Chapter 2 Breach part 2

Suddenly, the red light turned on as the devices on their chest gave off vibration, signaling that something was happening at the site. However, that didn't change their moods because they were accustomed to such signals.

Johnheart took the communication device while signaling his guards to be ready.

" What is going on, Bright?"

He asked, showing his calmness in this situation despite the anxious looks of D class personnel. He knew many capable people could seal off this site and protect the management from unknown threats.

" I don't know, brother. The lower floor where we kept 173 has gone silent after the announcement of the research that was taking a place there. I can't connect with their captains and guards."

Bright replied, showing his rare serious voice. Although he was regarded as a troublemaker, he was one of the best researchers on the site along with Gears, Johnheart, and Arthur who kept the balance between the floors. 173 was a dangerous entity, so only a few were allowed to conduct research on it.

" I understand. We will deploy an evacuation plan and send the people out from the site. Meanwhile, you will isolate the floor and secure the other anomalies before something big happens. I don't think it is an internal problem since Elton was leading the experiment."

He said, looking at the people with his usual calm gaze. The guards nodded at his command, signaling everyone to clear the building because it was a dire situation and they needed to contain the escaped anomaly which was Euclid class anomaly.

Arthur sighed while taking off his coat. He carefully pulled out a pistol from the drawer and reloaded it with special bullets that could neutralize 173. This bullet was made from a strong acid that kills anyone on the touch, but it could hinder 173 for a moment.

" Are you going with me, Arthur? O5 won't be happy about this."

Johnheart said worriedly, knowing Arthur wasn't in a position to bargain against the council. Even though he had high authority, he wasn't permitted to visit Euclid classes and Keter classes due to his huge physical power.

" Doctor, we aren't in a position to talk about this. If this is 173, it might release dangerous individuals that are temporarily kept in the site."

Arthur spoke, determining to stop it before it causes any unnecessary damage to the facility. He knew there were dangerous anomalies that are imprisoned on the same floor and they were too dangerous to be left alone until the containment. Who knows how many innocent souls they would take again? Most of the dangerous anomalies were born as evil and irredeemable things, so Arthur knew why the foundation want to destroy them or neutralize them for humanity's good.

" Fine, stick with me since I don't know what will happen to us in the meantime."

Johnheart said, showing the worry on his face. Descending to the lower floor means certain death, but they had no choice. He pressed the elevator button and proceeded to the area where the breach happened.

Creak*

The doors opened as the dark environment met them. There could hardly see in front of them much less a few meters away.

" Doctors, we need to proceed with caution from this point. You don't have goggles, so we will scout the area first."

The captain spoke, gesturing his men to walk slowly to the monitor area where they could restore the power. The eerie hall continued as they went to the room according to the map. There was nothing but emptiness in this area in spite of the pungent smell of blood that had yet to be dispersed into the air.

Arthur walked beside Johnheart with an ugly face, already guessing the fate of the residents here. Power outage spelled the worst outcome for them as the most dangerous anomalies had been set loose in this area, including 96, 106 who were imprisoned here.

Drip*

The black liquid dropped before his shoes, hindering his movements. Arthur raised his eyebrows, nudging the sleeves of the soldier. The soldier noticed his unusual behavior since he had been working as his guard for a few years. He quickly recognized the fact that something was amiss.
