Chapter Fifty-Five Olivia Takes a Stand

Pyronis point of view -

"I don't like the idea of being on a different floor from her, your highness. I've guarded her for a long time. I took an oath to keep her safe. How could I keep an eye on her if she weren't in the room next to mine? Wouldn't it be honorable for me to be on the same floor as the princess, thus breaking my oath?"

It's my hope that my security concerns for the princess will keep me by her side. To be honest, I'm scared I'll lose my love (My Olivia) to the prince. My whole being loves the princess, I don't care if he's her true mate. While I know I promised the king to let her have a chance with her true mate, I can't do it. She's being courted by someone else than me, and its torture.

"Both of my sons are very good warriors and, if they were to fight in a fair fight, I am sure that they might even be able to rival you and maybe even beat you in fair combat. In addition, my daughter has also been trained to become a warrior. Having said that, I would like to point out that her long-term goal is to become a captain in the armed forces. It should also be noted that your oath was taken to ensure that Olivia would always be protected, as far as the oath goes. The oath you took was to make certain she was always protected, I am sure. Being the Captain of the military, I am sure you must leave her side quite frequently. Meaning that you leave a competent warrior with her while you cannot be with her to protect her. As for security, the extra layer of measure we use is the floors that are accessed by the royals. It may only be accessed by royals with a matching set of fingerprints. Then they will also need a match of their personal fingerprints in order to access their own personal room. Now that being said, we will be sending each of you and your men to the security office so that fingerprints will be taken on the rooms and floors on which you are currently situated. Once we are done with our meeting."

I watched as the king now spoke to Cadma, addressing some war about to take place.

"Cadma, what about the war that we are helping Ashina with? How is that going?"

I watched as Cadma replied to his father the king, while I wished Cadma would disappear and never return.

"It is clear to you that Ashina is a hybrid, and the Queen of Witches is currently training her to use the powers she has been given to fight in war, as you may know, father. I promised her that after I returned Gandor home, I would check in on the troops, keep their spirits up, and see how the training was progressing. It was also my responsibility to inform the troops that she would be ready to join them in a few weeks."

Suddenly, Olivia speaks, and I am about to lose it, because she wants to join their war. I can't have that.

"Trying as much as possible to join in, Olivia appeared excited at the moment, trying to capitalize on the conversation." I would like to go with Cadma to check on the warriors, I would also like to come and help in any way I can. I am one of the few who understand Ashina's desire to fight for her kingdom and reunite her people. May I go with Cadma?"

There is no way I would put the life of my future bride in danger, especially with Cadma by her side.

"I cannot let this happen!" I growled, slamming my fist against the wooden table as shards of wood flew from the impact as I shook my fist.

"PYRONIS! I am not a member of your clan, I am independent from you, I do not follow your archaic rules as you do. I have been training secretly for this day, I cannot and will not be dictated to by you! I will go regardless of whether you approve! I, PYRONIS, am going to go!"

It was impossible for me to continue with this meeting any longer. With an angry glare on my face, I left the room and ran outside, all the while taking my dragon for a flight and getting some fresh air. To my dismay, Olivia never came out to join me, even though I hoped she would follow me.

Cadma's point of view

As I caress Olivia's soft hands with my own hands, I am taken aback at the perfection of her hands. Depending on my father's decision, I would be honored to have you join me on this upcoming battle in order to train some of Ashima's warriors and some of the dragons that are also there to help in the fight if my father agrees."

A warm sensation tingled across my hand and spread to the rest of my body until I was aware of tingles that spread to the center of my heart. The moment I gazed into her eyes; I could tell she had felt the same effect as I had.

After my father's statement, "You will both be leaving first thing in the morning with some warriors who will be guarding this princess," the king added. "I would like to say goodbye to everyone. Cadma ensures all guests have their fingers printed. I will now take my leave. Gandor, you may stay in your room on the royal floor. Just tell your Na Na that you will return home tomorrow. In this way, you will be able to bond with your newfound sister tonight."

I was addressed by my father as "Cadma." and I heard my father say "Do you hear that? It is for Olivia and her brother to spend some quality time together tonight."

Reluctantly, I nodded in agreement with my father.

The moment Gandor spotted his newly found sister, I watched him smile and run over to her. Honestly, I am not sure what he is feeling right now. Maybe he is nervous, maybe he is confused. As well as having the opportunity to meet his biological sister, he also has new adventures and memories to rejoice in.

He asked her timidly if she would like to go to the house of his Na Na with him for dinner. In a moment of laughter, I said to myself, I know what my father said, but his Na Na is one of the best cooks I have ever known. As far as I am concerned, I am not missing out on this.

As soon as Olivia uttered the words, I blurted out, "YES, I love Nana's cooking. She rarely cooks anymore. I apologize that I told my father what I did, but I am not going to miss this." "She rarely cooks anymore, but I miss her cooking."

I get a look of anger from Gandor as he says, "I didn't ask you butthole!"

It gives me great pleasure to watch Olivia laugh at us, and I smile dreamily at her beautiful smile. In response to Gandor, she nods her head, and we make our way to the security area to get the guests' fingerprints taken. During this process, Gandor grabs her hand and leads her all over the place they need to be. Since my job is to make sure all of the guests are fingerprinted, I follow along with the process to ensure they are all fingerprinted.
