Chapter 28

They all left the village without saying any more to each other. The man and Einar both knew this situation was not safe, so they were paying attention to everything around them. They also had a little girl they needed to protect with them.

Their ears were perked up, noticing every little sound around them. The man was obviously a little more on edge than Einar since he had his daughter with him.

They soon ran into the first monster on their way, it was just a cat-like corrupted being. They were far from the strongest, but they were quite agile.

The monster started running towards them at extreme speed. The man was shocked, he had never seen a beast this fast before, and he thought that it might have been safer to stay put.

Einars face was ice cold, no emotions were visible on his face. All he was thinking about was how to kill this monster the fastest way possible.

His Aura started pouring out of his body, which made the man shocked. He was shocked about his strength, what shocked him even more, was the color of his Aura. It was a deep black, he could not see anything through this Aura.

*Puchi*

Suddenly the man saw a small glint at the side of Einars waist and a sound of something being cut.

*Thud*

Afterward, the sound of something hitting the ground could be heard. The black Aura around Einar slowly disappeared, and the headless body of the monster was laying on the ground.

This all happened in the span of a few seconds, and the man barely had any chance to do anything. All he got to do, was lift his hammer into a guarding manner.

He was shocked silent. 'Is this his power?' He thought as he proceeded to look at the young man's face.

"Are you two okay?" Einar saw the monster had died, so he turned around to the man and his daughter with a friendly smile.

"Y-Yes, thank you!" The man was still looking at Einar with a shocked expression, but he still managed to utter his thanks.

"Good! Then let us continue!" He said, as he turned around and started to walk.

This made the man look at Einar with a whole new face, this youngster in front of him was much stronger than he was.

He was a warrior himself, who had many fights under his belt. He was not a weak man either. He came from a tribe made of almost only warriors. Even though he was not the strongest in his tribe, he was definitely not the weakest either.

The young man in front of him though was definitely strong enough to beat the strongest tribe member without even having a difficult time.

"I am sorry young man, I haven't asked for your name yet!" The man said.

"Don't worry about it, my name is Einar!" Einar answered with a small smile.

"My name is Brando!" The man said. Before he looked at his daughter like he was asking her to introduce herself.

"My name is Elise!" The girl said in a cheerful tone. She seemed unaffected by these matters. Might be because she is a young kid, she might not understand what is happening.

"Okay, Brando and Elise, it is a pleasure to meet you two!" Einar said as he patted the small girl with a warm smile.

"Hey EIn ...!" Brando was about to say something when he suddenly got a bad feeling. Like something very dangerous was nearing them.

The ground started trembling, and something very big was coming. It was big enough for its footsteps to make the earth shake.

"HIIIIDE!!!!" Einar yelled out, as he pushed Brando and the girl to the side.

*BOOOM!!*

When Brando landed on the ground with his daughter in his arm, he heard a massive explosion from where they were before. He looked over to see that a huge crater had been formed with a big rock in the middle.

As he saw this crater, the first thought that came to his mind was 'Is that kid okay?' He started to frantically look around, trying to see where Einar was.

The first thing he asserted was that Einar had not been hit by the big stone, as he was not anywhere to be seen in the crater. He couldn't see him anywhere else though, it seemed like he had disappeared.

He suddenly felt another tremble in the ground, which made him wake up. He decided it was time to hide, so he hid behind a big stone away from the tremble.

A few hundred meters away from Brando, Einar was laying on the ground. He might have evaded the stone, but he was still hit by the big shockwave coming from the impact.

"Ouch"

As he tried to get up, he felt a bit of pain in his arm, but nothing more than he could endure. 'What the hell was that?' Einar had no idea what that was, but he decided he had to investigate.

It might be some mutated beast, which would bring a lot more trouble than the small fry he had been fighting until now. 'I hope both Brando and Elise are okay!' He could not help but think that way.

He didn't think about them for too long before he started t chase after the trembles the monster was making in the ground.

Not long after moving towards the trembles, he saw some massive craters in the ground. It was not normal craters made from big things hitting the ground. It looked more like huge footprints. They were very similar to human footprints, but there were still some differences.

As he was following these footsteps, he saw it was pure carnage all around them, be it beasts or buildings, nothing stopped this creature from moving forward.

After running after the monster for around 10 kilometers, he finally caught up. He saw that the monster was a huge gorilla-like creature. The difference between this creature and a gorilla was of course the size difference. The other things that were different, was that this gorilla had scales on the arms and the chest area and horns sticking out from its head.

Its fur was a fiery red, while its eyes were pitch black. This monster looked terrifying. It did not only look terrifying, the pressure it was released was like standing under a 10-story high building.

Einar had a hard time breathing, just being in its presence. This monster was a dangerous foe to him and humankind. If this monster got into a big city, it would probably be able to lay most of it to waste.

'I have to stop this monster somehow' Einar thought, as he tried to think up a plan.
