The Walking Dead by Dera Collins

"There's no way. You can't be alive, you simply can't! You were killed on the battlefield. You sacrificed your life for the wellbeing of the empire! You shouldn't be here. What has the dead got to do with the living?!" She shuddered in fear. "Indeed my beloved. I had been killed not by sacrificed but by betrayal. I had been betrayed by my closest allies therefore, my soul wonders seeking vengeance and shall not obtain salvation until justice be served!"

Chapter one

His sword felled them both with a mighty swing. They fell to the ground dropped dead. He stood amass the dead corpses, the air reeked with the metallic scent of blood. He'd realized it now as he heard the voice from afar.

"Naught such a hero now,are ye, man? Hail the great emperor Lyall for he has fallen at last." He said in a mocking tone.

O Cleirigh looked up."A hero? Always. For a man who believes in his ideals, norms and principles and does not shift the winds of fortune, will always be remembered as such."

Lachlan too fast strides towards him, hitting him.Hard.

He fell to the ground feeling the searing pain rush through him as a slight smile made its was to his lips.

He looked up through damp hair as he touched his now bleeding lips.

"Aye? Ye seemed as crabbit as ye hae always been, right lad? Tsk, tsk, tsk, such a fine lad!" O Cleirigh said mockingly.

"Aye, ye have never haed a bad memory old chap. Indeed, A must... For a must grant thee that. Hail emperor Lyall O Cleirigh!" He retorted spitefully.

O Cleirigh could clearly see the resentment in his eyes and couldn't help reminisce past memories. This... Lanclan? They used to be best of friends. They did everything together, planned together, went to war together and often came back victorious. They seldom lost any battle for they were always had each other's backs but now... Now, at this moment he had lost a friend once very precious due to a thirst for fame and power.

He could vividly remember that treacherous day, a day when his closest ally turned to the dark side.

They stood side by side amidst a battle so vile yet fierce.

Somehow they had known it would come this. Indeed, they've fought. They've fought so ferociously and yet they seemed neverending.

They both knew, for the one they fought wasn't just some rival or King, he was indeed a Lord. One who was feared by many and has never been defeated. One who was very well experienced when it came to battle, who was rich in knowledge and every onslaught known to man and yet known to be so vile and cunning. This was Cromwell, a man who never accepted defeat.

Known by everyone to be a revolutionist,Cromwell has reigned for decades, conquering kingdoms, building revolutions and gaining armies so powerful, could destroy an entire nation in a heartbeat.

"Lang time nae see m' emperor." Cromwell strode forward, an evil grin donning his lips.

Lanclan stepped forward ready to do battle but was held back by O Cleirigh.

" Indeed General Cromwell, it's been dunky's since a last saw ye." Lyall replied taking a step forward.

"Aye Lyall, aye, it's indeed been quite a while since we've spoken old lad. Why don't ye take a sit so we could chat.

Indeed Cromwell's accent was fluent for he had travelled, indeed he had. He had travelled far beyond the borders of Scotland and on certain occasions mixed with the British and Americans. The same went for Lyall for he being an emperor had also travelled far and wide across the vast world and was well up to date with various languages including English of which he knew the appropriate time to put to use.

"Forgive me General for a must. A simply can't chat with ye right noo for a hae more important matters tae deal with." He said pulling his sword from it's sheath.
