The Villainess Is A Beast Tamer

“Sorry, Theron doesn’t like guests,” she sneered, glaring at the man who decided to bother her. with a finger still on the collar of the large tiger, she walked forward dangerously close to him with her not so little friend in tow. “He’s also not too fond of being interrupted before meal time.” this time, she let go of the collar, allowing the beast to pounce as she licked her lips, watching as the intruder tried to hide behind his arms, only to get bored and pull at the leash right before he was mauled. Bending down, she gave him a good few scratches under the neck and a chaste kiss, before focusing back on him. “Seems like you didn’t wet yourself there, congrats. You did better than we expected.” she laughed, it was then he saw not one more set of eyes, but over twenty sets of predatory gazes on him. “Here’s some friendly advice, your majesty. Try running, and they’ll pounce.” with that, she walked off with her tiger, only to be stopped as he grabbed her wrist, breaking free of his cold sweat. “Please, don’t leave me alone here!” he whimpered, his eyes looked as sad as the wolves whenever she’d stop petting them. closing her eyes, she pondered for a moment. “If I do, will you do me a favor in return?” she asked, her expression never once shifting. nodding frantically, she pulled his own wrist, releasing her’s from his grip and walked him beside her as she took him out and away from the cats. As they continued walking, he tried to break the silence. “Thank…” he started but she interrupted. “Don’t thank me yet. The birds can be quite aggressive when mating, it’s going to be a few minutes, a pure miracle you didn’t die sooner.” she told him, still walking leisurely as she wanted to ensure Theron got his exercise. Gripping his wrist harder as a warning, she finally came to an abrupt stop. “Annul our engagement, and stay away from my family. Do not ever speak to me again.” she ordered, the beast growling up at the prince. “No!” it was now her turn to be surprised as he bowed, head nearly touching the pavement. “Anything but that, I will do anything my lady wants whether it be gold or asking for the most expensive jewelry. But the one thing I will never do is annul our engagement!” His eyes sparkled, and for the first time she saw confidence within them. The Elyas’ Magic Rundown

Instantaneously all the objects that went flying disappeared, instead reappearing on the ground around Penelope. "Lady Argyris, refrain from taking your anger out on others, otherwise I will be forced to go to extremes to protect Lady Theia." In a flash the objects were back in their original positions.

Walking beside the ravenette he whispered something in her ear as she tried to protest, only for him to use a different type of magic. Water was pouring out his hand as he spoke to her, something about how she needed to leave him alone.

"Shall we go, my lady?" He turned to her, taking her hand as they now teleported out into the gardens, he must of spotted it from the windows when she gave him a tour, or it were pure chance.

He wasn't a major character, but she was quite curious how he did that or what his magic was. As far as she were aware some people were only born with one type of magic. Though that magic did vary greatly, and she meant greatly, it still didn't make sense how he used two. "What'd you do? You used two types of magic." She questioned him once they were out in the gardens, asking him to explain just what he did to protect her back in the library.

Blinking, he was surprised she didn't know. "Do you not know the Elyas family magic?" He replied, shaking his head as it was evident by her expression she didn't. She barely even memorized the list of noble extras attending her party, give her a break she thought. Was it some sort of copycat magic like in the movies, he could replicate anything he's seen before?

"The Elyas family is known for maintaining the law. Unlike the Argyris family which signature is their silver eyes, the Elyas family's signature is their magic." She nodded, understanding that much. Just like how the silver eyes would be passed down to the descendants of the Argyris family no matter how dominant the other genes are, the children in his family will inherit their signature magic no matter what the other parent's magic is.

Maintaining the law, she did recall the Duchess giving Isaac a contract to unite the two families together. "The Elyas family magic," he raised his finger and a contract appeared, on it at the very bottom was the signature of both the Duchess and Duke according to the last names of the paper. "Mother has temporarily given me father's magic."

He had lost her once again. How did his mother give him his father's magic. Could they steal it? Reading over the contract, he continued explaining. "The rules of the contracts don't have to be fair, only that all parties agree." In it was written that the Duchess of the North would lend Arkadios Elyas the magic originally belonging to the Duke of the North she held possession of until he returned to the Northern Territory.

The Duke of the North consented to giving his magic to the Duchess, and allowing the Duchess to give it to another. "Why does the Duchess have the Duke's magic?" she quirked a brow. Even if they were married it sounded a bit crazy to give someone your magic. "I assumed everyone knew the story of mother and father, but it was wrong of me to do so." Continuing to telling her the brief story of how his parents met.

The Duchess at the time had just made her debut and the Duke was head over heels. He tried repeatedly to ask her out but she declined, ignoring him. Finally, she taunted him by telling him if he gave her his magic she'd consider and he did. Using the magic of the Elyas family, they wrote a contract which solely benefited her, and once signed the contract went into action.

The infatuated boy could no longer use his magic, instead she had full ability to use it as it belonged to her. Eventually she relented and married him, but he insisted she kept his magic to prove to her he would always love her no matter what.

It actually made made a bit of sense why Penelope was so sure if she was pushy enough he'd eventually relent, since that's what happened with the Duchess. And things came to a realization just how powerful of magic it was. "These contracts don't limit to stealing magic, do they?" She asked as he laughed, she caught on quite quickly.

"No, and we also don't steal magic. It's all consented to. Our contracts makes everything written the truth. If any of the clauses are broken the contract automatically tears up." That made sense, but it was too powerful to comprehend, though. How could such mighty magic exist?

If Isaac broke his contract the Duchess would immediately know, he'd have to stay loyal to them. On top of that it didn't have to be fair at all? "Consent? Can't you coerce someone?" Her simply question made his eyes sparkle as he shook his head.

"The magic only works when the other party is conscious and consenting, otherwise the contract is not valid. Henceforth, the Elyas name is synonymous with law. The magic binding both parties is the law between them which cannot be broke or there will be proper punishments for both sides." He answered.

"It's a punishment because if the Elyas family broke the contract, depending on what it is, it can be used against them to defame them," she spoke aloud, palm resting on her chin as it hit her. "it's a double edged sword."

"It would seem fine if the Elyas family broke the contract, but if someone's magic suddenly returned the other side would know immediately, but also…" she looked up at him. He didn't expect her to comprehend it so quickly and easily.

"If someone like the king wanted the Elyas family to prove their loyalty, he could make a contract that only benefits him, but the Elyas family would have to sign it or else he would be suspicious and use it against them." He gave her a small clap while finishing up her thought for her.

"And he could ask the member of the Elyas family who made the contract to summon it whenever, just to ensure it weren't torn." What a double edge sword that sounded less overpowered and more frightening as she thought about it.

However it gave her a new idea. "Could you steal Penelope's magic?" She questioned, hopeful. She didn't want him hear her, but now that he was useful she'd use him well until he left.

Thank you for reading! <33 Hope you enjoyed a brief chapter about Arkadios and his magic. I love magic a lot so getting to worldbuild a bit and develop magic is fun! sorry if you aren’t too into magic and stuff, ^^.
