The Prestige of a Nave

However, as soon as I saw that oblivious face of his, my smile immediately disappeared, replaced with a cold sneer. "Cassian Hall… Didn't you have something to do today?"

"What?" The prince furrowed his eyebrows. Then, running his fingers through his wavy green hair, he continued with a sigh, "I thought you called me for something important. Just say it, or else I'm going to go back. A moment's long past by now."

My violet eyes narrowed dangerously, with the hidden rage within them surfacing rapidly like a volcano on the verge of eruption.

With the area that I stood being void of sunlight, the darkness loomed close, dancing between the shadows of the century-old trees, bringing out an uncannily gloomy and eerie side of the campus grounds.

"You..." My violet orbs glowed against the murkiness of our surroundings as I stepped closer to Cassian Hall, who had begun shaking and sweating profusely ever since he finished his sentence. "... Nave."

...

VA Note:

Knave is a classic insult for someone of the male sex.

The word originally meant either a peasant, a servant, or a young boy, as in the common medieval expression "a knight or a knave." In Shakespeare's time, though, the word meant something more like a liar, a cheat, or a con artist.

Curse my terrible ability to think of suitable insults!

...

It was beneath me to shout out any filthy curses towards this degenerate. It was unwise for me to spend so much time and effort to do something so useless.

"N-Nave?!" The prince managed to croak out after a long silence. His voice was hoarse and strained, as if something was clogging his throat.

I beamed, but my smile didn't reach my eyes. "Are you not?"

In response, Cassian Hall's figure convulsed a bit, but the pressure was not enough to make him fall to the ground.

"How could you even think of confessing to Asura?!"

"Wha-what do you m-"

"Your pitiful status isn't even worthy of wiping Asu's shoes! Much less be her lover. You must be kidding when you thought she echoed your feelings, right?!"

My gaze intensified as my volume and pitch rose with each word I spoke.

Cassian Hall didn't reply this time, perhaps too preoccupied with the illusions I planted before his eyes. His face had turned ashen, void of the pride and prestige of a prince.

Lol, forgive me for that atrocity. I had expected me to use a lot more colorful curse words, but... it turned out to be only 1 unfunny and out-of-date insult.

Anyway... here, we get a peek at the extent of Lancera’s powers. What do you think? ;D
