Chapter 2 The Bat

"What do I do about this bat,should I just leave it here;no I can't do that I'll just take it home and make sure mom doesn't see it".Marcus than wrapped the bat with his gym towel and started running home."While running he saw a pharmacy that was still open Marcus thought "maybe I should Buy some band aids and anything that can help this thing".As Marcus was walking towards the pharmacy he felt like some one was watching him possibly even following him so just in case he turned around and waited to see if anyone was there.

He than went into the pharmacy and saw anything he can find that can stitch up the wound,he than brought about 20 items to the counter and asked "how much is it for all of this".The cashier a girl a little older than him stared at him and said"all of this is $124.95 cents"Marcus eyes widened and thought "holy crap that's 4 weeks of my allowance this little **** better heal up fast.As he gave her the money a Middle aged man in a black trench coat with sunglasses walks into the pharmacy looking at morphine,He kept on staring at Marcus and what was in his hand.Whys that man staring at me "Marcus says in his head,does he see the bat but I have it wrapped with my gym towels.When he was given the receipt Marcus then zoomed out of the pharmacy and ran home as fast as he could,he kept on looking back because of that man in black it have Marcus chilled just thinking of that guy.

Marcus than made it home and tried to be as silent as possible to not wake his mom up who was on the couch sleeping,his mom with her eyes still closed said why are you back so late and what's with all that medicine."Well when I was walking home I passed by the pharmacy and saw they had deals on everything and remembered we don't have that much medicine"said Marcus sweat coming down the side of his face.She than said "oh really now maybe tomorrow I should go to the pharmacy and ask about that you know to make sure it's legit so I know next time to buy all the good snacks they have".Marcus sarcastically said"yeah you should go do that tomorrow maybe you can get some good deals on the things they have",he than looked at his moms face all emotionless staring back at him saying"don't act like a smart*** now go put that medicine in the cabinet,make sure to eat your dinner while it's still warm than go to sleep your first day of high school is tomorrow".

"Yes ma'am"Marcus said as he put the things away and went straight into his garage with the bat wrapped in his smelly gym towel ."Crap what do I do now"Marcus thought as he cleared a table and is the bat down gently "I know how to patch up an injured dogs paw but this is a bat a wild animal, should I call animal control or bring it to the vet do they even take bats."I need to focus the wound isn't even that big but what caused this it looks like something slashed it with a knife or a claw".First I need to clean the wound good thing I brought medical alcohol" Marcus thought,he than started to clean the wound and pour a little alcohol while he tried to put band aids on the wound."Damn this isn't gonna work it looks like I need to stitch it up but u don't know how to do that,maybe I should ask mom she's nice and very reliable,but what happens after the bats wound is healed up" Marcus thought.**** it I'm just gonna ask mom Marcus said nervously.

"Mom!!! Marcus said in a loud voice I need your help there's this bat that's wounded and I don't know what to do I tried to help it but the wound needs to be stitched up".She than got up and said"I was waiting to see when you were gonna ask me for help".Marcus said what do you mean mom you knew?."of course i knew I'm your mom plus I saw what you were holding was bleeding and you had medicine so I put two and two together". Marcus then led his mother to the garage to where the wounded bat was laying on the table he then looked at his mom and said "can you help it mom he said. "Yeah but it'll be hard I need you to go inside and get my pin and needle and rub some alcohol on it now go fast"Marcus than ran inside to look for his mothers pin and needles so she can stitch the bats wound up.While Marcus went to look for it his mother kept on staring at the bat and said"why the hell did your kind have to end up here" his mom said with a cold face,Marcus than cane running back with the things his mother needed and she began stitching the bat up.When it was done Marcus asked "is he was gonna be okay"that's when his mother said "yes she'll be okay"."She Marcus said how do you know it's a girl","look down son do you see anything that belongs to a male" she said sarcastically."Now go to bed you have school tomorrow"his mom said,"but what happens to the bat now are we just gonna call animal control or take her to the vet" Marcus said."No we'll let it stay here and once it's healed up release her at night remember bats can't see when the sun is out,well that and she'll be burn to a crisp his mom said in her head"."Now go to bed"she said and he than responded with his usual "yes ma'am".

She than turned to the bat and said "your lucky your alive the only reason I'm helping you is because my son wants me to once your healed you leave and don't drag us into your war and if my son gets hurt trust me you'll have something worse than that".While Marcus went to sleep he thought back to that weird man and wondered if he knew that he had the bad in his arm,"no I can't worry about that it's my first day of school tomorrow hope it's not a bad experienced for me and everything goes well"Marcus thought.Man I have a feeling something bad is gonna happen I don't know why but I've been getting these strange feelings lately.When I was outside at night what could these feelings mean I wonder if mom knows what they are but I'll have to ask her tomorrow I gotta get some sleep and meet up with Bradley Tomorrow so we can head to school and he can show me around.
