Singing Audition (1)

It was already late in the night and Damien was in his car driving as fast as he could as rain fell heavily.

He thought about how Alicia would feel If he missed her party but luck was not on his side.

There was a huge traffic jam going on and he called Jessica and she answered on the first ring.

"Damien where are you? I've been calling but you're not picking up." Jessica said sounding worried.

"I'm fine Jess. just stop in traffic, I'll be home late." Damien said

" Well the party has already started and it's about to finish. Alicia's classmates are already leaving and she's really sad." Jessica said

" I'll be home soon." Damien said before hanging up.

It was already 11:00pm when Damien arrived home. The house was already fully clean, he drank a glass of water before going upstairs to Alicia's room.

He was surprised to see her reading on her bed. She looked at him and scooted as her face became long.

"Princess, I'm sorry" Damien said as he sat next I her and held her hands

"It's okay dad. I'm not too mad at you, I know you've been busy at work." Alicia said and he hugged her.

"Since it was late, I couldn't buy you any gift but I have two surprise gifts for you." Damien said

" Really? I love you so much dad." Alicia said and hugged him again then they both went downstairs holding hands.

Damien took her to the kitchen counter and that sat down with bunch of ice creams in front of them.

"Enjoy. Happy birthday love." Damien said and she smiled while eating the ice cream

"For the second gifts. I saw you singing in your room last week and you were amazing. You didn't tell me you could sing so well." Damien said and her face turned red.

She has never told anyone about her love and passion for and now her dad found out she felt shy to sing in public.

"Well dad, I don't like singing in public. I get really nervous and my voice becomes horrible." She said

"That's okay. Anyone can get nervous but I can help you overcome it. You know your mom is a singer and Model." Damien said suddenly regretting his words as Alicia looked down

"Well I'll be better. Is my mom popular?" She asked and he nodded. she didn't want to push the conversation further before she becomes emotional.

"Before I forget. I signed you up for an audition at R.E for singing. If you pass they can train you to become a young famous singer." Damien winked at her and she smiled while imagining the thought of her doing a live performance on stage.

"I promise to come home early tommorow to train you okay? The audition is on Saturday" He said and she nodded.
