Ch-114

The room seemed to hold its breath as the energies wrestled for dominance, each seeking to overpower the other in a battle of wills. Sparks flew as the opposing forces collided, casting shadows that danced across the walls like fleeting phantoms.

The sound was deafening, a cacophony of crackling energy and echoing reverberations that reverberated through the very foundations of the palace. Every surface trembled in response to the sheer force of their clash, the air thick with the smell of ozone and magic.

For a moment, it seemed as though time itself had stopped, the world holding its breath as the two energies locked in a fierce struggle for supremacy. But then, with a sudden burst of light, Lenora's golden energy surged forward, overwhelming Azazel's dark power with its radiant brilliance.

The room erupted into chaos as the two energies collided, sending shockwaves rippling through the chamber and shaking the very ground beneath their feet.

Adira coughed weakly as the dust engulfed the coffin. Just then, she heard her sister-in-law's voice. "Hold it. Press it when Azazel is not paying attention," Lenora said as she handed the ring to her. She swiftly went back to the position she was in earlier.

As the dust settled and the echoes of their clash faded into silence, Lenora stood with a smirk. Both their energies were deflected by the power balls they released.

"Not bad. You are worthy of being my father," Lenora commented.

What?! Father?!

Adira's eyes widened in shock as she looked at the both of them.

"What do you mean?" Adira asked, involuntarily taken away by surprise.

Instead of agreeing to Adira, she turned towards Azazel. "I agree to your conditions in the letter. I will help you with everything in return… I shall be the one to rule this world," she said.

Adira realized what was happening. She was a pawn to lure Lenora and others here. From the start she was not the target but Lenora.

Lenora, being a descendent of the witch bloodline, is now a vampire. Not to mention, now that she was a part of the werewolf kingdom, her existence was just so special. Was this why the ancients needed Lenora?

Azazel's eyes in the skull seemed to be peaceful. "If you are going to agree, why the show?" he asked with a mirthful tone.

"I want to see if you are powerful enough to fight both kingdoms. I can… but you? I doubt that. If not, you would have done that long ago, wouldn't you?" she asked. Lenora's eyes looked at him with superiority.

"You are indeed my daughter," he said, letting out a peal of laughter that sounded horrible to hear. But that laughter showed that he was pleased. His laughter confirmed Lenora's words.

Adira realized the whole game now. Lenora was checking to see if she could beat Azazel on her own or not. That was why she gave the ring to her instead of summoning her brother and her husband here during the chaos. Now, she was acting like a good daughter until both men came here. If Lenora can do it, even Adira can do it.

"You! I respected you because you are my brother's wife! I never thought you would be this vile!" Adira's scream sliced the air.

"Come on! Did you think I married your brother for the sake of both races? I married him for my freedom," Lenora let out a peal of vicious laughter as she stared at her sister-in-law. Lenora was glad that Adira understood her plan.

Even though it was a lie, Adira felt hurt. She doesn't want to hear these words from her sister-in-law.

Lenora walked towards Azazel and took the seat beside him. "He loves you," Adira said with tears in her eyes.

"Doesn't matter. My interests matters," Lenora said and turned her attention towards Azazel.

"Did you know…" she said as she turned towards Azazel.

"Dad, if Vampira made me a prisoner for two years, this Werewolfia is no different. I tried mingling with them, but they saw me as an outsider! And he is the reason for Victoria's death indirectly! If she was alive, I wouldn't have gone through the hardships!" she said as her eyes burned with anger.

"Do you hate me too for being the reason for her death?" he asked.

"She stupidly fell into your trap. Her fault. Not you." Lenora said with a shrug. Even though she said that she was burning inside, she uttered these words.

"Didn't you love your sister?" Adira asked with a shocked expression. Adira knew how much love Lenora had for her sister. Saying these things will definitely trigger Lenora. She can't let her talk with Azazel all the time. She needs to be tactful and interject when needed.

"I never did. She was always in the war. And when she returned, she gave me nothing but hell. If I could, I would resuscitate her and kill her on my own," Lenora replied.

Azazel thought he would have to deal with her tantrums, but he doesn't need to. He was relieved. But she was not stupid either. He saw Maximus and Zaros were entering the coffin. She was acting. He knew it very well. He was waiting for her to spill the beans on her own. He was giving her a chance. Whether she liked it or not, he would make her come his way.

Lenora saw the magic globe too. She could see that it was working like a surveillance system. "Oh, by the way, your husband and brother are here," she said with a smirk.

"Dad, we can kill these three of them here for starters," Lenora said as she turned towards him.

"I thought they were here for your safety," he said in his amused tone.

"Hmm… seems like that's what they thought too. What do I do about that? They are just fools who love me in their own ways," she said with an unbothered attitude.

"They are," he replied.

"The best way to kill a person is through love. Don't you think so?" she asked him.

"It is," he replied.

"And not to mention, I need someone else to use their brain to get me here safely. Who could be the best bodyguards rather than those two kings?" Lenora said it with a laugh.

"I will kill you! I will kill you both!" Adira screamed in terror, like she had gone crazy.

"First, care about your life before you think of killing us, sweety," Lenora taunted sharply.

"She is getting noisy. Why don't you continue or start the ritual already?" Lenora said it as if she were annoyed by her. Azazel looked pleased to see Lenora's enthusiastic attitude.

"I will not die or let you kill anyone! You witch! You just wait! I will let my brother kill you!" Adira yelled at her.

"It looks like she will die from this yelling rather than the ritual," Lenora muttered. Azazel let out a peal of laughter.

"In the coming seven minutes, the moon will turn red. A drop of your blood will be used to wake up the ancients. While Adira will be gifted as the final offering," he said with a smile.

Lenora smiled at him with a bright smile.

"You can't do that! You will not touch it! I will never allow you to do that! I will kill you both!" Adira kept on yelling despite her throat starting to hurt.
