Eudora likes Adira

Ch-6

Lenora's words shocked everyone in the hall. She not only surprised Werewolves but also Vampires. Ophelia was shocked too. She never thought that her daughter would be this heartless.

Maximus smirked at her actions. He could understand what she was trying to say. She was trying to tell her that she was no lesser of a person than her. A beauty with brains was surely trouble and his future wife was exactly that.

Ophelia gritted her teeth and kowtowed thrice in front of Adira.

"Princess Adira, she is yours to punish if you are still not satisfied," Lenora said with a gentle smile. Her features softened when she saw the expression on Lenora's face. She looked gentle, harmless, and innocent. She felt pity to throw her in between blood-sucking vampires.

She wondered how she would handle this arrogant Ophelia right in this situation. She wanted to know if she could be a good queen of the Vampire kingdom and get into the history books of the Valorine family.

Adira was shocked at the sudden question about her future sister-in-law. Eudora understood the intention of Lenora in that very second. The vampire elders wanted to say something to Lenora but Eudora stopped them, holding up her hand firmly. Even Zaros shut his mouth when he saw his mother supporting Lenora.

"Princess Adira?" Lenora called out again with a bright smile.

"That's enough for her I guess. I wish her position as a royal maid would be stripped and would be my maid in my chambers after marriage as a cleaner," Adira said as she hugged her brother tighter. Her voice didn't waver. Adira could understand that the woman in front of her did this thing willingly and she wasn't just a vampire but something else.

Lenora raised a brow at her. Adira looked pure, delicate, and innocent in her clothes. Her make-up gave her an angelic look, pale skin with a light blush on her cheeks. While…Lenora looked confident, courageous, mature, and strong front. They both were polar opposites. Despite their differences, one similarity between them was that they both were innocent in some way. Lenora's innocence was just too visible to the naked eye. But as for Lenora, only the people who were close to her could say she was innocent.

"Your way of punishment is too unique, Princess Adira. I am rest assured that the Vampire Kingdom will be in good hands, getting a Queen like you," Lenora praised her.

"May I know what Princess Adira would like to do with that lowly maid?" a vampire Elder, Darick Melchior asked.

"My Lord, maids behave according to their masters. And from her behavior, Princess Lenora Serafina Valorine isn't her master. I am curious about her master. Even before I became a queen… I could see people plotting against me.

"And Princess Lenora… is testing me earlier with her question. She wanted to know whether I am fit for her brother and the kingdom. Since I suppose, you all have an impression of me… I wouldn't tell you my thoughts. After all, actions speak louder than words. Let there be some suspense, My lord," she said with a small giggle.

Lenora, Eudora, Zaros, and the other Elder Vampires were shocked. The way she presented herself made them believe she was innocent and gullible. But now, they could see that she was not what she seems to be. As the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover.

"Now I will agree with Princess Lenora's words. Even I am rest assured that the Vampire kingdom is getting a Queen like you," Darick Melchoir said.

"I feel like I am flying in the clouds," Lenora said, exaggerating her actions like a kid.

Eudora chuckled loudly for the first time. Lenora and Zaros' heads turned toward her in a swift motion. It had been two years since they heard Eudora's laugh.

"Looks like I am letting a child instead of a grown-up into my home. I am glad I have someone to pamper." Eudora said.

"But you already have two children. You could pamper them. Why my daughter?" Serene asked.

"Hmm… Well… these two people aren't my children but rather, my parents. They act like they are my mothers and I am their daughter. Adira has some child-like behavior. At least with her, I can have someone to pamper." she answered.

Serene just smiled at her and said nothing.

"Why don't you sit beside me, lovely?" Eudora asked.

Maximus helped Adira to sit beside Eudora. Zaros had to admit, he was pretty impressed by his future wife. It's been a while… since his mother called someone to sit beside her. Unknowingly Zaros was becoming a little attracted to his wife.

He noticed her skin was not as pale as vampires. She was fair. Eye pleasing. There was something about her that made him unable to get over her. From the moment she entered the venue she had stolen his heart. He wondered if she could be this outgoing with him when they were alone. But that just depends on fate and time. He just decided to wait for her to enter the palace.

After dinner, Lenora excused herself saying she needed some fresh air. Everyone said nothing to stop her and let her be. After all, all the vampires knew of her reputation.

Lenora walked inside the garden. The garden was filled with different kinds of flowers. Despite being night… The flowers didn't lose their beauty in the night. As she walked through the garden, she felt extremely calm and cool in the garden. She just hoped no one would come in and ruin her peaceful moment.

Inhaling the air, she looked around. Despite everything, she was still a female who loved flowers and other girly stuff. She didn't think that was inherently bad. She liked expressing her femininity. It's just that… Eudora taught her that strength was more important than being beautiful.

Bending down, she took a deep breath in the sickly sweet scent of the flowers around her.
