Apology (4)

"We shall sleep," he said to break the awkward silence.

"I will go back to my room," she said getting up.

"No!" he yelled almost immediately.

"Why?" she asked with her furrowed brows.

"We are starting a new. We shall share the bed. I promise I won't touch you," he said sincerely. His eyes were pleading with her desperately. She badly wants to deny it, it's just that… she couldn't. Those silvery desperate pleading eyes had their own magic that made her unable to reject him.

"Fine! Don't touch me!" she said walking towards the bed. She went to the left side of the bed and slept there turning her back to the right side of the bed.

Zaros smiled and went to the window to close the curtains. After he was done closing the windows, he blew out the candles and walked toward the right side of the bed and slept. When he made sure she slept, he pulled her closer to him and wrapped his arm around her. Unconsciously Adira turned around and hugged him tighter as she slept. She even wrapped her hand around his torso and threw her leg over his legs in her sleep.

"Such a cuddler," Zaros muttered under his breath as he placed a kiss on her forehead. For some reason, Adira's lips curled into a smile at the very second as it filled his chest with warmth.

On the other hand….

"Maximus, what are you doing?" Lenora's panicky voice came out as she watched her husband doing the brainless thing.

"I will stand in sun, moon, rain or shine, thunder or lightning, till I get your forgiveness," he said.

"Are you blackmailing me?" she asked.

"Nope. I am just showing you how desperate I am right now!" he said.

"Maximus! Stop this madness and come inside! The sun is rising!" she said looking at the sky which was painted with orange, yellow, red, and blue colors. Generally, she would have enjoyed the view but right now she was not in the mood. She doesn't know what happens to a werewolf if he stands in the sun but she knew that it's not good.

Vampires and Werewolves were the creatures of night, not the creatures of the day. She has been heartbroken by him, she might have been hurt by him but… she won't let him die.

At the end of the day, she loved him be it in the past, future, or present. She won't let him die or throw away his life just like that.

How could he take his life lightly?!

This cannot happen!

"If my love for you is madness! Then it is madness! Why don't you accept me?!" he asked her feeling frustrated.

From the time she rejected him, he tried to explain one way or other. But she was hellbent on not accepting back. She wasn't giving him a chance to redeem himself.

Can't she see his love for her?

"Why shall I accept it!? You broke my heart! Can you give me a guarantee that you won't break it!" she asked feeling the anger bubble inside her.

"Do you think you are the only one who is broken?! I was broken when my mate died! It's not natural death as everyone thinks! Only I know, it's not natural death! Yet I bore it by myself! I swallowed the pain, hurt, and everything. When you came into my life, I thought… I can have my second love! But you are rejecting me!

"Can't you give us a second chance?" he yelled standing in the back garden of her chambers.

He removed his shirt and stood bare only in his pants under the sun. Vampires get burned when they were exposed to UV rays. The UV rays weren't that intense now. They will be intense in some time.

"First come inside! We will talk about it when you come inside!" she yelled at him.

Her silvery eyes turned red from anger as she looked at him. Her fangs were threatening to come out. She couldn't control them anymore.

"Will give us a second chance or not?" he asked desperately. Even if they stood afar, she could hear the desperation in his voice.

"I said come in! Don't test my patience!" Lenora said angrily. She didn't care who heard or who didn't. All she wanted was for him to get into the shade and escape from getting burned in the sun.

"I have been patient till now. I want you to give us a chance. You can walk away if you don't see the light," he yelled from his position.

"Maximus, I don't get it. Why do you want me now all of a sudden?" she asked trying to control her anger. Her claws, and fangs were already pierced out of her fingers and mouth.

Lenora went near him and looked at him. She knew she couldn't get burned even if she stood in the sun.

"I always wanted you. I thought… you will accept me after I taught a lesson to your brother. I thought that was the best plan. But… it turned out it was worst. It not only broke my heart but also yours.

"My sister accused me that I am being a jerk. Everyone looked at me as if I did something bad. That's when I realized, I am the wrong one. I am not at all right. I may not be wrong completely in the whole fiasco but I have my own share of a major faults.

"After you left the study room, I wanted to come to you before sunrise and explain a plan to you. I wanted you to put on an act in front of your brother and family. I couldn't come to you as you gave me a shock by shifting out.

"I was too guilty to approach you. I didn't realize, I went too far till things got out of hand. Now… you can punish me or do anything to me. I don't care. I want to be with you.

"I will do everything for you. I will help you with your sister's investigation too," he said sincerely.
