"Can I go ask as far as that huge tree?"
It was a risky question as she did not move more than five feet away from him. To ask to go fifteen more was a bit overboard but she couldn't let herself be restricted forever.
"No," he said darkly.
Mauve's face immediately fell and she slightly pouted her lips. At first, Jael's expression didn't change, then she heard a loud sigh.
"I'll speak to Lord Garth by sundown. Give it time. As soon as the fence is fixed you can roam around as much as you want."
"Really?" She squealed, coming even closer. She stopped in front of him and pushed her heel upward so she could have a closer look at his face.
"But only in the daytime."
She nodded several times. She didn't need him to tell her this. She had no intention to face another paler soon. She still had the scars from the last one.
