Broken Memories, and Monsters - Part 1

A deafening shocked scream from Ikeshia can be heard for miles, it echoed for a moment, and the girl's face turned pale as she looked at the magic display in front of her eyesight, with her shaken finger pointed to it.

"W-Wh-What is this?! H-How… come… I am over a thousand levels up and… my status is all top tiers?! Ehhhhh??!!"

A blue transparent display showed in front of Ikeshia as she could look at the details on the list with precision. It didn't just list her name and the points of health, but also mana, strength, agility, critical rate, and so on. Ikesha was so confused as she stared at the screen with a phased-out expression.

"A-Are these my status? Aw, but I can't remember what I did in the past to gain this status so far. But is this truly magic? This display looked some kind of ancient… hmm? A manual?"

With her eyes scanned through the display, a small rectangular box was located at the left corner of the display. Ikeshia gulped and placed her finger on the button and… causing numerous displays to suddenly pop out within a milli-second in panic.

"Wha!!?? S-So many of them… ah… ah!! Ouch!!"

Lost her balance on the dead log, Ikeshia fell backwards as her head struck a pointy bundle but smashed it into dust. She sat up as she held up the back of her head with her hand, but the moment she turned around at the smashed bundle, her face even went blue.

"T-Th-There is no way my head can smash that sharp bundle from the back to dust!! I… no, there is no way I am a human even my status listed to be!!"

After several hours of reading the manual logs at the displays, it didn't just show how the status was to be used, but also other functions like increasing skill points, item box, and so on. Ikeshia slowly gained memories of how she used to do this.

"So that's how to handle this log, but that's too much to be able to insert into my brain. The most curious thing for me will be the item box, I was just wondering what was inside of it."

After a moment of breath, as she closed the status display, Ikeshia turned her head from left to right to ensure there was no one around the area. She began to open her mouth and chanted.

"Item box." In an instant, a magic display reappeared as Ikeshia sat on the dead log for a time, there were charted boxes distinguishing different items from weapons, clothing, and magic items too. While scrolling down the list starting from monster corpses, Ikeshia was surprised to see such rare trophies.

"I can't believe I had them in my box since they were filled with rare monster corpses which could create tons of relic weapons, I bet I must quest a menace while I have my memories before. Let's see… after that are potions, not too bad for myself… well then upcoming is…"

Suddenly, while scrolling down the list of clothing, Ikeshia's body trembled again with her eyes wide open and… her nose bleed like a pair of faucets.

"Wha… WHAT ON EARTH ARE THESE??!!"

Ikeshia couldn't believe her eyes at what she was seeing. The clothing which she laid eyes upon has almost no cover, she might as well be naked while wearing these types of clothes, while trying to stop her nose from bleeding, she summoned a tiny glass of red potion while using her mind and drank it as fast as she could. Soon her nose no longer bled and stopped, Ikeshia painted after catching her breath from drinking the potion, and she slapped the display in rage although it was transparent.

"There's no way I am going to wear them! How the hell did I make those in the first place? Although most of the colours and patterns were matched… Tsk! Why the more erotic the more status buffs and more? Am I that kind of pervert?!"

Although moved her eyes away from the display, she couldn't help herself and continued to discover this "restricted" clothing.

"Maybe I should give that dress in black with a flowery side apron for Tia as a gift… No no no! There's no way she would accept it, or she would think even more strange things about me…"

Soon after calming herself down, Ikeshia was looking through the armoury list when a dagger-like weapon caught her attention. While looking at its description, it is known as the "Mithil Shapeshifter". After summoning the weapon in her right palm, the blade was azure, clear, and transparent with wave-like patterns and air bubbles within the blade shaped like under the deep sea. The hilt was made of gold, wrapped in thin strings of platinum around the grip.

The very moment took a grip on the weapon, a strange sapphire aura glow as it wrapped around Ikeshia's body, she could feel the power of it travelling through her nerves. More importantly, she regained some memories of how to handle the weapons.

"The feeling just now, was like cool air passed through my skin. I should test it by myself."

Ikeshia stood up and she walked toward a wide tree, she picked up the dagger and made a full swing onto the trunk, which instantly cracking noises could be heard, and the tree was chopped down in an instant. With a wide mouth and eyes followed by a shocked expression, Ikeshia's eyes lit up with excitement while holding the dagger between her hands, she jumped in joy as she was thrilled to have such a miracle weapon.

While still jumping, the bushes around her started to create movements which alerted Ikeshia. She looked around in cation as different presences were near to her, the moment she turned her back, a horde of Scavage Rabbits with half of a normal human's height hopped out from their hidden place as they screamed.

"An ambush, eh? But not so fast." With the words, Ikeshia closed her eyes as she transferred magic mana to the blade as it extended its length and curved into a samurai blade. Not before the rabbits could bite her skin with her sharp teeth, they were slashed through the necks as they fell onto the ground to death in lightning speed.

After eliminating the monsters, Ikeshia swung her blade aside as the rabbits' blood splashed onto the ground to keep the blade clean. After opening her eyes, she pointed at them as she counted the numbers, a total of thirty.

"That's a relief, the quest I asked for was fifteen, but it was doubled. I will keep some of them for myself, or I can give them to Miss Susha."

Soon, Ikeshia opened a portal which connected to her inventory, she began to toss the rabbits one by one into the hole. After work, the portal was closed as she wiped her sweat from her forehead.

"Well then let's waste no time and it's time for a monster hunt!"

Without any doubt, she rushed deep into the forest while jumping through swamps and muddy roads. With the dagger sealed into the sheath around her wrist, Ikeshia travelled at full speed as she was using her monster detection magic to locate the preys she was looking for.

In a minute, she scouted a giant orange centipede with horns beside its cheeks. While wasting no time, Ikeshia pounded onto the creature as she drew her weapon as its blade shifted into a long sword blade and cut it in half.

The centipede screamed as it fell onto the ground with its last breath, Ikeshia transformed the blade back to an axe as she chopped the horns one by one as proof. The blade changed shapes in fluid status as it turned into its original form as it was sealed into the scabbard. Ikeshia picked up the horns with ease as she teleported them into her inventory.

"Phew, the centipede was an acidic one but at least I killed it fast with my special blade which never rusts or rots…" Before even could finish her sentence, the ground started to shake, and two massive creatures rose from the underground Ikeshia noticed another two giant centipedes with yellow and purple each.

Both creatures roared at the girl, but she made funny faces at them to enrage their anger. Soon both centipedes cast a magic circle in front of their beaks and tried to throw lightning and dark aura on her.

Before both could get Ikeshia, she already evaded their attacks as she jumped into the air. With the blade in her scabbard, she cast two green magic circles as she raised her hands to the air without any enchantment.

"You suck at magics, idiots!" Without a warning, Ikeshia spread her arms to the sides with multiple invisible wind blades flung onto the monsters as they got slashed into pieces and collapsed.

For the rest of the day, screams of death continuously sprouted from the forest with numerous monsters slain and hunted. As the sun started to set, Ikeshia stored the last of the monster corpses in her inventory by the magic portal. After she finished the job, she stretched her arms and her back as she placed to walk back to the village.

"Hmm… the quests should be all copped with. It would be better to return to the village before sunset. I can't wait to go back to the tavern and look forward to the supper, I am so hungry."

While humming on the way, a massive explosion happened near the forest with birds flying away to the sky. Ikeshia would hear an unfamiliar roar in a distance, she turned around and used her search magic to look afar.

"What was that noise? Something looks big and it is rushing towards the… Oh no…"
