2. Meeting her

Flash back:

Steve POV:

I open my eyes feeling warm and cozy because of my wife who was sleeping soundly. She looked so peaceful and angelic. I brush through her hair with my fingers, she gave a slight frown but went back to sleep.

I didn't wake her up because I know that she is tired these days. Gosh! I wish she could just take rest and stay at home. It's not like I can't provide them. We are more than stable financially ( not to boast).

I know she love her job but I can't bear to see her tired face everytime. It's hurts me more than her. I wish I could take all the hardships for her so that she can always be happy. I love her so much that I respect her decisions in everything.

I just play my role of a supportive husband. I am telling you guys, girls hate it when you interfere too much in their business 👹. I have learnt my lessons from my past already 😅.

I look at the time and I wash up, made breakfast for my wife and kids and get ready for work. I saw my little children playing. They are so cheerful and energetic in the early morning.

Well, I am not surprised because I know whose genes they take after, it's none other than their mom. But they make the house lively after all. They are my antidote.🥰

I bade goodbye to my kids and drove to work with my wife. On the way, my wife question took me by surprise. Of course I miss Nanny May. I told her that she could never be replaced in our hearts though she is no more.

Anna and Nanny May came into my life when I needed someone the most. It was not depression but I was missing something I couldn't figure it out. After meeting her, I knew I found the answer.

My parents were always busy with work. As doctors, I knew that they were saving peoples lives. Even though I was just a kid back then, I knew I had to sacrifice something.

Nobody knows about how I feel. I was just 10 years old back then. My parents supported me and showered me with everything that I need. But we could not be like a normal family.

I was sitting under a tree reading a book ( I am somewhat of a nerd from when I was a kid). I heard footsteps approaching to my side.

When I looked up, I saw a very cute girl, smiling at me. Her smile was genuine and angelic which I could die for. She was around 5 years at that time. Who do you think it is? It's my love Anna of course.

I could swear in my life that I never loved or liked anyone except her. It was love at first sight for me.😍

My heart and mind was already filled with her from the day I met her. She was with someone. I thought, Oh! She must be her mother. Then the lady asked me why I was sitting alone under the tree.

Her facial expressions showed that she was kind and genuine when she asked me, not just some filial pity. So, I told her that I was used to it, used to being alone. Then, she told me about Anna.

She was no different from me. But I wondered how she can still be such a bright child, so different unlike someone. ( Booing himself 😂)

I misunderstood, she was her nanny. Her name was May, May Johnson. She was the most kind-hearted, loving and selfless person I have ever seen in my whole life. That day I found two of the most important people in my whole life, Anna and Nanny May.

We talked a lot. I was surprised to see myself talking with strangers so perfectly as if I was possessed. ( Well, I was possessed by Anna heart already the moment I saw her🥰). Thats how much they influenced me.

When I showed them my house. Nanny May told me that it's such a coincidence just like destiny that Anna lived just near my house (So, we are neighbours 🤭). I was really happy.

I thought to myself, I will be able to see her every day. I felt so lucky. Comparing all those happy moments when  I  scored A+ in my exams would be underrated to the happiness I felt at that moment.

It was not a surprise to know that we never met or know each other. Anna was homeschooled and I was the type of person who always stayed at home.

As if fate permits us to meet that day, our lives just intersect at its point. And that was just the beginning of our story.
