"You are a vampire, do something"

It isn't same as the world I know, it's far more dangerous than that, more painful than that world, I can see the pained expression on his face as she dies in his arms, tears stained across her cheeks blood pooled around her on the grass where they sit staring in each other's eyes. My eyes also filled with tears as I see them, I feel someone creeping up on me a shiver runs down me as a voice speaks behind me, calling my name "El", I jump in surprise and I return to my world, the book that had flown up from my hands to the car roof in consequence of my surprise, now lands hard on my head with a smack, "ouch" I groan in pain.

I turn sideward to the window of my car to check the source of the voice, and there stands Cody smiling at me-his green eyes were lit, his brown hairs were gelled backward, his nose in a perfect place stood on his face, his smile wider than always that could lift up the world, his cheeks inflated as he smiles, but his pointed chin doesn't waver an inch, he wears a denim jacket over a black shirt-my best friend.

"So are you planning to stay in the car forever" he snaps me back to the world once again

"I came early to school today, so I decided to stay in my car and read" I explain picking up my bag from the passenger seat.

"are you going to hurry ma'am or we are gonna be late for class"

"how much time do we have" I close the car door coming out of it.

"10 minutes"

"There is still 10 min" I whine stretching my arms.

"What were you reading?" he generally asks the question.

"Nothing" I know what he'll say if I answer his question.

"Don't tell me it's another vampire series" he turns toward me truly annoyed as we enter the courtyard from the parking area, it's full of kids playing here and there.

"Do you know eighty percent of vampire books are tragic?"

"So"

"One fire burns out another's burning, One pain is lessen'd by another's anguish-William Shakespeare, Romeo, and Juliet, sometimes I read such stories to realize that I am luckier than other people out there that my problems aren't that big and others have far worse problems than mine....."

He rolls his eyes at me "deep" he speaks in middle

"... except that they have a vampire in their life and I don't" I continue, pouting.

"Do you know why you are still single?"

"What does this have to do with me being single"

"because whoever decides to make a mistake of dating you will come running back when you say those Romeo and Juliet lines in front of him and become Shakespeare"

I hit my elbow in his stomach for saying this

"that's another reason why you will remain forever single"

I turn towards him "what is" being all cute and asking in a sweet voice

"you are a taekwondo expert"

"at least they'll know not to mess with me, plus I might ditch a date to complete my vampire story I don't handle suspense to well you see, I can ditch anything for that "

"Are you also gonna ditch basketball today after school"

"Well except that, it's one thing I can't spend my day without"

The bell goes off, we look at each other and run in opposite hallways, we don't have all classes together, Cody's been my friend since as long as I can recall my memory, I bet even before that our parent's made us play together, we were neighbors back then until we were 5 but then they moved away we still remain, friends, we went to school together. He's the only friend I've had since childhood, we were like jam and bread.

Everyone comes out of the school building as the bell to the final class ring, loud noises fills the entire place, homework discussions and gossips erupt in the courtyard, lobby, and parking lot, I move out of the lobby and in the courtyard, my nose inside the book -I've been reading- my eyes concentrating on the words, until they aren't there anymore,- my book has been snatched by you know who- I look up frowning "Cody" I whine.

"You will get this after the basketball match" he says towering over me

"And if you don't give this book to me after that, it will be your last day" I bring my fists in the air ready to punch.

"I swear on my basketball that I won't do anything to make today my last day"

"I sometimes wonder if vampires really existed, who you think would be one"

"in my opinion veronica would be one" he says eyeing at the girl sashaying towards us, twirling her golden locks with her pinky finger and winking her deep black eyes at us, more like at cody.

"no I think she would be a witch" cody and I both go into hysterics at this statement.

"you bet"

"What do you think about gally" he's the basketball captain of our school team, his eyes are honey colored, his skin milky white and his hair just the perfect shade of brown, he's so strong his team won in tug of war last year all because of him.

"you could be one too" he says out of the blue surprising me.

"Huh" I face him with a confused expression

"you have a pale skin, golden brown hair colour, brown colored eyes and a dimple chin'

"What does my dimple chin have to do with it " I say reaching to touch my dimple chin

"what about Zavier?" his attention is turned away to the other side.

"what about him?" I follow the direction Cody is looking in- Zavier stands in front of his black Mercedes, his fingers busy in his phone, his black hair falling into his eyes. He pushes his hand through his hairs and looks up scanning the courtyard, his eyes travel in our direction and our eyes meet for a brief moment, and his eyes are light brown, they are so deep you could dive into the ocean of his eyes and never find your way back, but there is something off about him. He has a fair colored skin. His teeth are all perfectly aligned and white.

"what do you think is he vampire?" Zavier's ears twitch upwards and he smirks as if he heard our conversation and I have a sudden urge to punch that smirk off.

"maybe, but there is something strange about his aura" I move forward taking my eyes off Zavier, going towards the basketball court with Cody trailing behind me.
