chapter 5 IT HAPPENED

janet awoke to the huge, insect like creatures looming over her bed and screamed her lungs out. it hastily left the room and she stayed up all night, shaking and wondering if it had been a dream.The next morning, there was a tap on the door. Gathering her courage, she opened it to see the creature gently place a plate filled with fried breakfast on the floor, then retreat to a safe distance. Bewildered, she accepted the gift. The creatures chittered excitedly.This happened every day for weeks. At first she was worried he was fattening her up, but after a particularly greasy breakfast left her clutching her chest from heartburn, it was replaced with fresh fruit. As well as cooking, he poured hot steamy baths for her and even tucked her in when she went to bed. It was bizarre.One night, she awoke to gunshots and screaming. She raced downstairs to find a decapitated burglar being devoured by the creature. she was sickened, but disposed of the remains as best she could. she knew they had just been protecting her. One morning the creatures wouldn't let her leave her room. she lay down, confused but trusting as he ushered her back into bed. Whatever his motives, he weren't going to hurt her. Hours later a burning pain spread throughout her body. It felt like her stomach was filled with razor wire. The insects chittered as she spasmed and moaned. It was only when she felt a terrible squirming feeling beneath her skin that she realised the insects hadn't been protecting her. it had been protecting it young inside of her, she asked herself how did this happened. she screamed no one could here here.
