Chapter 12 : Mock Battle [ 1 ]

"That was a great fight demonstrated by Leo and Eleanor." Anne said.

Raising her voice further, she continued "We will be conducting a mock test tomorrow, in order to check how experienced you are in combat."

The crowd of students erupts in noise.

"We are going to have our mock battle tomorrow!?!"

"Who am I going against?"

"I should prepare for tomorrow, I can't lose to anyone!"

As the noise began echoing through the training field, Anne spoke.

"The mock test will be 1v1 and here are the rules."

Simultaneously, A big blue transparent hologram appeared in front of everyone.

Aya stared at the blue hologram, "Indeed, just like before all the rules are the same as the previous regression. then my opponent for tomorrow's match is Mary. I'll just use my previous strategy."

Turning her head, she proceeds to stare at Lo intensely, 'Tomorrow I will be catching a glimpse of how strong you are.'

Meanwhile, in the corner of the training grounds. Lo stares deeply at the blue hologram, "Hmmm? Why is there a mock test in the first week of classes? I thought it's like next week."

Everything did follow through accordingly just like in the novel, except for the part that I 'accidentally' pissed off Anne Morela.

Well that may be the cause as she might want to take her revenge against me, but I can't say much about it. Since she isn't that petty of a person, if a professor of Aleksia is that petty then the academy isn't worth mentioning as the best.

"Hmmm, just what happened? Am I the cause of the shift? but I haven't even done anything yet."

Thinking too much, won't get me anywhere. I might as well begin to speculate who will be my opponent tomorrow. I registered as an intermediate mortal rank into the university and since the people around me cannot sense my rank, I am assuming that everyone have no clue I am currently at peak mortal rank.

"Might as well use it as an advantage to get my opponent off guard." Lo spoke to himself with a smirk on his face. While continuing his training.

In the middle of the training grounds, Four individuals can be seen talking to each other as three of these individuals are girls and the other one being a boy.

Leo, who was the main culprit of forming such a group, began talking to Eleanor, Mary and Lena.

"Girls, who do you think will be your opponents for tomorrow's mock test?"

Lena replied coolly as though she doesn't care, "Doesn't matter. I'll easily crush them either way."

"Fair enough, I guess?" Mary puzzledly responds to Lena.

Ignoring the response of Lena, Eleanor replied, "Do you know who might be your opponent Lena?"

"No. However I know that I can crush them without breaking a sweat."

Mary interrupted Eleanor who was about to ask another round of questions, "What happened? Did that guy from the class before, pissed you off to this extent?"

"A little, that's only because I don't know why I feel familiar around him whenever I see him. It's as though we have been together in our past life."

"And that thought pissed me off, which is why I want to ask who this girl he is talking about whenever he first sees me."

Eleanor giggled and showed a vile smirk, "Hehe is this what they call love at first sight?"

Lena coldly stared at Eleanor, "The next joke you make about this matter might cost you an arm."

"Hey! you can't do that you know!" Eleanor pouted and she continued. "All four of us here have known each other since childhood, in other words we are childhood friends so why are you so cold even towards us."

"Dunno, don't care. you all have known me since childhood." Simultaneously the three of them stare at Lena with a deadpan gaze while sighing inwardly.

"So Eleanor and Mary, who do you think will be your opponent for tomorrow?" Leo inquired.

The two girls look at each other and respond simultaneously, "Who knows."

"What about you Leo? Who do you think will be your opponent for tomorrow's mock test?" Lena asked.

"Well, I honestly think it might be Aya. She looks very strong and she is also very on guard even inside the academy, it's as though she is always prepared for the worst case scenario."

"I agree with Leo, she looks like she is always on guard for something. not only that but can you feel her aura? she is an intermediate 1st star rank!"

"Although I haven't seen her combat prowess yet, from what Mary has said. It is true that she is an intermediate 1st star rank, and of all the students inside the class, except for Lena and Leo, she is the third person I should expect to lose."

"..." Lena stares at the trio, while she begins to sense the surrounding aura around her. as she continues to sense the surrounding aura, she turns her head towards the corner of the training field.

"Leo, Mary and Eleanor. Can you guys sense that guy's rank?" Lena pointed at Lo who was swinging his wooden sword against a training dummy.

Leo and Mary begin trying to sense Lo's rank, while Eleanor smirks towards Lena.

"Eleanor. smirk one more time and I'll be seeing you in the afterlife."

Hearing the response, Eleanor rolled her eyes and replied. "Yeah, yeah Ms. Ice Princess."

"Huh?! Why can't I sense his rank??"

"Me neither, I can't sense Lo's rank at all!"

Mary and Leo exclaimed surprisingly, Leo continued. "It's impossible to bring a relic into the academy and even if you bring one they'll just restrict you to enter the academy."

Mary inquired towards Leo's question, "Then how does he do it?"

"Honestly. I also don't know, I've never heard of a Trait or a Talent that can hide one's rank, however I have heard of such skills exist before."

Eleanor interrupts Mary and Leo, as she stares at Lo with interest. "Maybe, he has such a skill and that skill is a passive skill instead of an active skill, that might also be the reason why he acts arrogantly as maybe his rank might be higher than everyone here."

If Lo hears about Eleanor's comment, he would cry on his ability to hide his rank. as Lo just wants to have a peaceful academy life.

Glancing towards 'Ms. Ice Princess', Eleanor smiled at her, "Look at you, for the first time in your life, you actually have taken interest in a male. As a friend I am very proud of it."

"Now that you mention it, it's surprising how Lena is the first out of the four who spotted out the abnormalities about Lo. you usually ignore everyone around, so what happened?" Mary grins towards Lena.

Leo subsequently jokes, "If the students heard about 'The Ice Princess' started taking interest towards a male, the whole academy would turn upside down."

Hearing the remarks towards her 'weird' gestures, Lena coldly glares at the trio while her cheeks flared up red. "I swear, one day I will take my revenge against the three of you!"

The trio rolled their eyes as they thought inwardly, 'Tsundere.'
