Chapter 10 : Clash Between Bonds

In the classroom, a pink-haired woman and a white-haired young man were staring at each other. Anne spoke up, "Do you have any idea what you have done?"

"No," Lo responded while shaking his head.

"..." Anne paused for a moment before continuing, "You have offended one of the heirs from the eight great clans."

Before Anne could continue, Lo interrupted her. ".. she won't do anything to me."

Anne narrowed her eyes, "And what makes you think that?"

"Because I know her better than you," Lo replied calmly.

"You..." Anne was about to erupt in anger, but she managed to calm herself down.

'I've never been humiliated to this extent, especially coming from a student. if that's what you want, then so be it.'

She crossed out Lo's name from the list and spoke coldly, "This will be my last warning to you. Do not cause trouble for the class." She then slammed the door and left Lo baffled.

'I never thought that Anne Morela had anger issues. In the novel, I have never seen her getting enraged to this extent. I guess I have truly pissed her off,'

Lo then mumbled to himself. "The eight great clans, huh? It's true that I offended the heir of the Amary clan, but she isn't that petty to have her revenge against someone as irrelevant as me."

After contemplating his thoughts, Lo made his way towards the training room. Upon his entrance, he took a moment to survey the scene before him. His sharp gaze swept over the students with a detached air. Some were selecting their weapons while others were engaged in training on the open field. Lo observed their movements impassively before selecting a training sword and moving to an unoccupied corner in the field.

Meanwhile, in the open field, surrounded by several students, a bright blonde-haired young man was swinging his sword against a training dummy. Leo continued to train as he was approached by a blonde-haired beauty with forest green eyes. "Eleanor? Are you here to spar with me again?"

"Yes, I want to fight against you again."

Leo nodded his head and led Eleanor to a futuristic room. "Let's go inside the VR world and fight to our heart's content." The two reached the room and activated the system.

[ Generating... ]

[ .... ]

Ding!..

[ Training VR Room.. ]

[ .... ]

[ Please input username.. ]

Leo and Eleanor inputted their name and the door opened to reveal a black room. As the two began to enter, several students came to spectate the match.

"Who do you think will win?" one student asked.

"Personally, I think Leo will win. After all, he is ranked first in the whole class," another student replied.

"Well, rank doesn't really matter."

"From the rumors I heard, Eleanor is able to fight a tier above her."

"Hmmm, we'll see the outcome later since both of them are at intermediate 1st star rank."

Almost all of the students came to watch the match except for Lo, who was still training in the corner.

Inside the black room, where Leo and Eleanor were standing opposite each other, a hologram appeared in front of them.

[ Analyzing... ]

[ ... ]

[ Generating Terrain... ]

[ ... ]

Gradually, the black room was nowhere to be seen, as it began transforming the whole area into an arena of sorts.

"Are you ready?!" Eleanor spoke excitedly.

Leo grinned and replied, "Ready."

[ 3.. ]

[ 2.. ]

[ 1.. ]

[ Begin. ]

With the sword firmly in her right hand, Eleanor dashed towards Leo appearing right beside him nd swung her sword horizontally. Seeing the incoming attack, Leo reversed his grip, holding the attack down by blocking the incoming attack, then pushed her back with a sudden knockback. They both landed some distance away from each other

"Not bad, your swordsmanship has improved," Leo complimented Eleanor.

"You too. Your movements are much sharper than before," Eleanor replied.

The two stood and stared at each other, trying to gauge each other's strength after their first exchange.

"What's the matter? Ladies first," Leo said with a smirk.

"If you say so, then don't mind me being rude here," Eleanor replied as she activated her skill, [ Acceleration ], An A ranked Skill that could accelerate any part of the user's body.

Appearing next to Leo, Eleanor consecutively swung her sword with horizontal strikes. Leo parried each consecutive strike, the sound of the swords clashing echoing through out the arena.

As Eleanor accelerated her horizontal strikes, Leo began to feel numbness in his hands. 'The impact behind each horizontal strike is so heavy, it feels as though I'm trying to cut steel. I need to push her back and use [ Dawn Blade ],' he thought.

Leo used his bloodline ability, <Gravity Manipulation>, to push Eleanor back with a gravitational force. Eleanor blocked the incoming force with her sword.

"That bloodline ability of yours is more annoying than before," Eleanor spoke as thrills of excitement began running through her.

"Your proficiency in using [ Acceleration ] skill has increased too. You haven't made any mistakes yet," Leo replied with a smile in the end.

"Hmph! Of course. I'm the only person in my clan who inherited [ Acceleration ]," Eleanor retorted.

Leo's sword began to brim in light, "Well then, let's see if you can block [ Dawn Blade ]."

He swung his sword down, leaving behind a thin bright slash.

As the battle continued, the students watching outside the room were left utterly astonished. The high-level fight between the two heirs of the noble clans had caused the entire class to erupt in cheers, captivated by the intense clash before them.

As Aya watched the battle unfold, she thought to herself, '[ Dawn Blade ], the downgraded version of [ Sword of Light ], the skill inherited by Leo from his clan. Although the difference may not be immediately noticeable, the [Sword of Light] is overall much more destructive.'

Glancing over to the corner of the training field, she noticed Lo practicing his swordsmanship. 'Why isn't he here with us? The exchange between the two should have caught anyone's attention. Even some of the professors would watch. It's not often that you see two heirs of the eight noble clans fight each other.'

Back on the battlefield, Eleanor noticed Leo's incoming attack and quickly activated her [ Acceleration ] skill to dodge. Taking advantage of her movements, Leo used his <Gravity Manipulation> ability to reduce Eleanor's speed, giving him the opportunity to dash towards her.

As the pressure inside her body increased, Eleanor gritted her teeth and used all her strength to avoid the incoming attack.

Swoosh!...

BOOOM!...

Barely avoiding the attack, Eleanor was about to counterattack when she heard a voice from behind her. Suddenly, a sword appeared at her neck.

"I won," Leo exclaimed with a wide grin on his face.

Eleanor responded with a depressed tone, "Haaaaah,... Even with all the training I've had for the past two years, I still can't beat you.... I surrender."
