I glanced down at the woman in my arms. "Miss Maxwell."
She slowly pulled away, loosening her hold on me a little, but she was not ready to let go of me. And for the first time, I was not pushing away the human touch. It was uncomfortable, alien feeling but welcoming and content at the same time. She peeked at me through her red, teary eyes. She sobbed silently, but the tears were flowing continuously from her eyes.
She started turning back to face others, but I slipped my free hand around her waist. For some reason, I didn't want her to see what was going to happen next.
Only a few days back, you forced her to witness a murder.
"Look at me." I commanded. She didn't question and for the first time, listened as I said. I lifted my other hand and pulled the trigger. Her eyes opened wide, but no words left her mouth.
