EVERYTHING FINISHED

BRIA

The sound rang in my ear, shaking me from the core. My mind was blank, and my heart... I couldn't hear it pounding. Like it has stopped working at that moment. A knot coiled inside me right from the stomach, slowly reaching to my heart.

I couldn't breathe as if, all the oxygen in the room sucked out of it. A tear dropped from my eye, and I blinked. The first thing I noticed was a black, shiny metal in my hands. But I couldn't make out its shape as it was not steady. The reason... my shaking hands.

Suddenly the weight of the object became unbearable for my hands, and it dropped on the floor with a click. My legs felt like jelly, unable to carry the weight of my body. I collapsed down like a twig brake into two.

What was happening?

I tried to steady my gaze and come out of the shock. It was a mistake on my part as everything rushed in my mind like someone has thrown a bucket of cold water on my head.
