Tap. Tap. Tap.
All sorts of tabs flashed across Bryan's screen as his fingers danced on the keyboard.
One had to wonder if Bryan was able to see what the tabs exhibited given how quickly they arrived and disappeared. Unexpectedly, it seemed like he could see them.
"Chris what is it."
'Bryan, I need you to send me every detail about the person named Thaibuta." From the other side of the call, he heard those words.
"On it
The speed of his fingers became even faster.
Darting his eyes over the five monitors in front of him, Bryan's hand paused.
" I found all about the person you requested. I have sent it, you can check. Anything else." Bryan asked.
"Yea. I need you to hack the system of the silver flash guild and get some mana bombs too." The phone call cut ended.
"Fuuuu... How troublesome." Bryan said while massaging his forehead.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
once again sorts of tabs flashed across Bryan's screen as his fingers danced on the keyboard.
Soon seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into hours.
"Finally." Bryan had finally hacked through the system of the silver flash guild.
Shifting his head to stare at one of the monitors, Bryan pressed his ear.
"I looked through every file of the silver flash guild and..."
[And]
A crisp voice entered his ears.
"Nothing seems suspicious," Bryan replied.
[You sure]
"Affirmative."
***
I sighed as I ended the call. My eyes once again paused on the screen in front of me.
[Thaibuta]
[Previous member of silver flash guild]
[Currently: Professor of the lunar academy]
[Rank: Star -6]
[Level -4]
[Proffession: Swordsman]
"Hmmm." I was in deep thought looking at the screen in front of me. Looking at the screen of my phone I typed.
"[Drop whatever you are doing. We are going on a trip in two days]"
[Where]
[The place where it all started]
[Are you sure you want to go there once again]
[Yes]
***
Taking a deep breath, he tried to calm down, but when he saw the words 'Where it all started he couldn't stop himself from trembling.
…It brought rise to memories he wanted to forget with all of his might. Unknowingly, his foot started to shake nervously.
'Calm down Bryan'
It took several seconds for him to quell his rough breathing, and even then, he could feel his heart beating uncontrollably inside his chest.
"Huff…huff…"
Clenching his teeth, he brought his fingers to the phone.
[Okay.]
He sent a simple message. One that only contained a single word. And one that took all of his energy to send.
Bryan stood up from his seat once he sent the message. He then started at the moon from this window which was shining majestically.
"…This can't go on."
He muttered under his breath.
***
"This might be hard on Bryan, but he needs to overcome it," I muttered.
Well, currently I was walking toward the black market. The only place on earth where hunters and demon slaves can coexist.
Why was I going to such a place? Because to break through star -1.
There were already people of my age who were star -2 or on the brink of breaking through star -2, while I was still stuck in star -1 level -7.
I wasn't exactly the weakest as my rank was 979 out of the 1500 first-year students studying in the lunar academy. (A\N - These first-year students are divided into five classes. 1 -A, 1 -B, 1 -C, 1 -D, 1 -E. Our Mc studies in 1 -C).
My main purpose for going to the black market was to break through the star -1 becoming a star -2 hunter. Becoming a star -2 hunter would make the mission of eliminating Thaibuta and other demon slaves even easier.
There are many black markets in the human domain and even outside the human domain, but the black market. The one I'm going to go to is out of Ashington city thus I had to board a hover train.
What made hover trains so special was the fact that they levitated in the air, and produced almost no sound throughout the whole journey making them a convenient means of transportation.
Thanks to its smooth aerodynamic design, air trains produced low drag, which in turn allowed them to conserve energy and reach speeds of up to 600km/h.
As I looked at the interior of the train, I couldn't help but be impressed.
Right now I was on my way toward plankton city where the black market was located. There were some black markets in Ashington city but we're not as big as the black market present in plankton city. And if I want to remotely come close to the kids with mysterious talents who have an influential families then I must also get my hands on sword art.
A sword art, or more specifically a martial manual. These martial manuals were just the remodels of ancient martial arts. The martial arts which were said to be useless became one of the most powerful moves possibly made by a human. After remodeling them and with the help of mana became very useful for humans.
I was thinking about getting a sword art for quite a while since it would be very useful for me.
Since the discovery of the adaptability that martial techniques had regarding the control and use of mana, martial manuals suddenly became extremely precious and as a result, they slowly started disappearing from the public view due to union and powerful individuals' intervention.
The union primarily did it to prevent the manuals from landing in the wrong hands, but about the powerful individuals, it was more of a power move to monopolize the manuals themselves.
Martial manuals were separated into nine grades. Normal, special, warrior, knight, Queen, King, destroyer, calamity, heavenly.
Each grade was determined by how powerful the art became upon mastery, and the difference between each grade was fairly substantial, just like the difference between a person's rank.
My goal was to at least gain a sword art which was knight or queen rank.
