Chapter 7: Battle of Speed: Mobility or Cognition

Ziro's feet slightly took a step back when she saw that inexplicably horrifying face.

Long pointed ears, mangled mouth extended onto its earlobes, gnashing shark teeth covered with crimson fluid, bulging yellow eyeballs with brilliant ruby pupils, and its hairless head such disgusting figure!

"That! No way! Isn't that sigbin?!"

She couldn't believe her eyes. But yes, it was actually sigbin, a jar monster, a distant relative of goblins.

In her previous life, her grandmother used to tell her about these bloody beasts.

Some of them were basically human at first but they were caught and trapped in a mysterious jar until they turned into this deer-sized devil, more of a Tasmanian devil.

However, some of them were born inside the jar and were raised by their kind.

Moreover, in this world, all sigbins were considered to be mid-tier beasts!

Compared to Ziro who was a cripple, she would only be a snack for this minute monster.

"I never thought this asshole is real. Should've let my grandma know..."

It took a second for Ziro to notice its inched black nails on its long skinny fingers which held a corroded dagger covered by blood.

It stench!!!

In a swift, Ziro briskly leaped backwards and raised her hand towards her face which made her white robe danced to her graceful movement. Her dazzling snow robe covered her nose as though it was made to be a maiden veil.

But no good, its fowl stench still lingered on her nostrils. It made her dizzy enough to make her vomit. It was like thousand rotten eggs mixed with human fecal wastes plunged into decaying human body filled with worms.

Blurg!!

Her eyes went blurry as her ashen face turned pale green.

No!

She couldn't take it! She stomach felt like a ship in a middle of an ocean whipped by a storm! So dizzy!

She inevitably lowered her left hand holding her weapon when she felt throbbing pain her stomach. Until then she realized

Slash!

Without any strength to react, Ziro found herself being cut on the shoulder by sigbin.

Too fast that her eyes couldn't catch up!

Her eyes widened when she was caught in a momentum of falling on the gushing ground like everything turned into slow motion.

Her pupils narrowed only to saw beads of blood spattered into thick air.

Thud!

Gah! Her back hit the ground hardly until she could only cough blood. Her lungs seemed damaged as she heard an awful crack from her ribcage! Such strong impact!

"The hell This body is frailer than a girl!"

It was indeed frailer than a girls body. Even though Ziro's bloodline was a dragon, but because the young man just shut himself up all these past years, and unwilling to train his body his physique was eventually deteriorated and became even more delicate than a princess.

She just cursed in her mind.

Well, she couldn't blame the young boy for not taking care of this body. Prince Ziro already suffered from multiple humiliations from his family, no wonder his will would be crushed hundredfold.

The one that Prince Ziro vented his anger the most was from his Uncle and its Son, Prince Mu, the closest mortal dragon prince on getting the throne from his father.

Ziro couldn't grasp her breath when she floundered to stand.

Faster! Faster! With a throbbing internal pain, her heart was tremendously racing. Although she got injured, she tightly gripped her sword size weapon and urged to fight.

Her right hand simply grabbed her cut left shoulder and put pressure on it. Better to keep blood loss into minimum or she might die.

Shhk!

It was back again and was ready to launch another blistering attack.

"Come on!! You stinker!"

Feeling agitated, Ziro clenched her teeth and pointed her weapon on that deer-sized monster.

But one thing she forgot about her grandma told her, sigbins special skill was stealth invisibility but it'll only work if it move backwards!

"It...It...It disappeared?!"

Her eyes popped out when it suddenly vanished. It just stepped one of its feet back and at instant, its whole body dissolved into murky mist.

Slash!

"G..Ahh!"

She was still staring at an emptied space when a long swing of dagger immediately sliced her thigh.

Ziro's knee slumped on the ground as she groaned in agony.

Without any time to mend her wound, another slash sheathed her other thigh until she slumped completely.

Pain could be traced from her eyes as it twitched slightly while her teeth were gritting each other.

Then another swing of a small knife landed on her right arm, and another one on her smooth face until multiple attacks landed on her frail body.

Not long, her small figure already covered with dozens of cuts as she was just helplessly hugged her self and sat on the ground.

Sigbin was too fast for her to handle even with just its invisibility her life was already in grave.

With such repugnance, she cupped her arms tightly and couldn't help but to blame such unfortunate fate of her!

'Why do I have to be so weak?'

On this instant, her previous memories exploded on her mind.

That exact moment, those exact words, she remembered all of her hatred, from her stepfather, from her impious stepfamily that killed her mother.

Dark menacing glare shot her eyes with her expression suddenly changed. Her heart seemingly retracted extreme beat that would almost rip her chest.

Those disgusting stepfamily she got and extremely abhorred, how could she forget all of them?!

With a long blew of her breath, the slender corners of her lips slowly curved up and her calm and gentle look came back, which underneath carved a menacing grin.

'How could I forget? Those useless pieces of trashes! How could I fall on to my knees if I still havent slapped their thick skins?'

She stretched her bleeding arm towards the piece of wood. Together with her unwavering determination, she tensed in an offense stance again.

But this time, she softly shut her eyes and felt her surroundings.

'I almost forgot that my grandma used to tell me. Reversing their feet maneuvers pays an invisibility skill.'

Her eyes twitched.

Actually that was not her real problem, but sigbins enormous speed. She might be able to defend herself from those multiple attacks only that monster was a little slower.

But it wasn't. It was so fast that her body couldn't even react when the dagger lands on her body.

However...

'If it is for speed, I would surely lose but the way it moves if I could just wait thats it! Like water, winds could create turbulent disturbance. Reynolds number proportional with the velocity of the fluid it shall only mean one thing. Higher speed the higher chances forming turbulent flows and vortex sheds from which I shall take my upper hand.'

Her lips made a faint smile on its corners.

While her blood slowly gushing from her dozen cuts, her eyes was tightly shut. Her chest gently heaved as she slowly wet her lips.

Swish!

Everything got silent on her ears as her whole body fell into extreme awareness. Without lifting her eyelids above her long eyelashes, it quivered slightly.

On that moment, the buzzy gushes of underground mist crept on her ears without any sign of ripples; the hisses of the flapping damp leaves above her and the distant crickets of small insects, it all left the pair of her earlobes with such serenity.

Shhk!

Her body tensed when she felt something was coming. A faint gush of wind caressed her face vortex sheds! She couldn't help but to curve the corner of her lips up.

'About sixteen feet per second, ten o'clock.'

The heck! Was that an approximation? What are you a human vane?

Shhk!

Her eyebrows suddenly quivered with her fingers gripped her wooden weapon tightly. The rattles came from her side.

'Thirty degrees west of north.'

Then another on her front and flickered behind her, until multiple rattle resounded.

At that moment, Ziro couldn't help but to furrowed her eyebrows and bit her lower lips. Her heartbeat suddenly went racing yet she dove even deeper from her senses as she was swallowed by cold sweats.

Shhk!!!

'From behind!'

A snap of her blanch arm, she swept her wooden weapon behind her to fend the attack as her body briskly turned around.

Crack!!

She was able to fend the first attack however her weapon immediately broke after a dashing slash sheathed on to it.

The clock made a milli tick yet sigbin flickered for the second time.

"Not a chance!"

With a blistering footwork, her toe buoyantly bounced which made her body made an explementary turn. As for that, her hair inevitably danced together with her bloody silver robe swaying along such graceful movement.

Accounting for the next attack, she outwardly raised her right elbow and leveled her palm on her flat chest. Tensing her left arm, she was ready to fend the next unhesitant assault.

However...

"Sh*t!"

As she just made her eyes finished its course, the deer-sized monster came to surprise her right in front of her body.

Those tiny murky fingers which held a dagger filled with crimson fluid suddenly swung a slash towards her pallid face.

But she was prepared for that kind of counter. Raging with execration, her palm on her chest rushed and grabbed the tiny hand of sigbin before it landed on her cheeks and halted it from its attack.

Gritting her teeth together with her clenching jaw, her hand never let go instead she tightened her grasp even more expecting sigbin to let go its dagger.

But...

At instant, her eyes went bulge. All her calculations and estimations were indeed correct however, the only thing she forgot, and too late to realize, that her body was weaker than any of the frailest lass ever found.

With a loud blast, an inertial momentum sigbin had gradually spawned from its flickers was copiously transmitted on to her until she was violently thrown several feet away.

"Bwuah!"

Darted at a great speed, blood spattered out from her mouth and her back crashed beyond several tree roots until she bashed on a sturdy trunk just a pace away from a cliff.

"D*mn your second law, Newton!"
