Mallet Island part 1

The very next day the couple and the twins left for the east coast finding themselves at the harbor of New York to get a ship to Mallet Island which was somewhere on the Atlantic Ocean.

"So now we need a ship that can bring us there," says Dante as he was looking around the place.

"A captain is more than enough. He can pinpoint on the map where the Island is or might be," says John as he was holding a map on which small islands appeared on the map.

There were many islands in the Pacific and Indian Oceans but an island with a castle should be in the Atlantic Ocean since castles of the design found on Mallet Island are more common in Europe than anywhere else.

They soon found some people which send them to a bar in which many sailors spend their time while staying on land.

They arrived at the bar and the couple looked at the name finding it suspiciously familiar as it named is 'Seventh Heaven'.

"The only thing that it misses is a female barkeeper now," says Nesiara as the twins look at them confused.

"Is something wrong with the bar?" asks Vergil as the couple shook their heads.

"No, everything is fine. It is just that a friend of ours uses the same name for her bar in another world," says Nesiara informing them.

They entered the bar and find people sitting around tables drinking and talking when they see the barkeep from behind.

They saw that the barkeep had long black hair but the stature and body type were that of a muscular man when the barkeep turned around they found out that he was cosplaying as he was wearing clothes that reminded the couple of Tifa.

"Welcome to the Seventh Heaven. What can I serve you?" asks the man behind the counter as the couple wanted to take a picture of the man just to send it to their children.

"We are searching for some captain that can help us find Mallet Island," says Vergil as he wasn't looking directly at the man nor did his brother.

"Why would anyone want to travel to that godforsaken place?" asks one of the people drinking at the counter.

He was an old man with a frizzy grey beard and had only one eye which had quite the spirit in it before he lifted his glass to drink from it.

"We got a contract from a person to go there and clean the place. You don't need to know more," says Dante as he didn't want to put the old man in danger.

"So you are going there to hunt demons," says the old man placing the glass down before signaling to the barkeep that he wanted more.

"How did you know?" Dante is curious as the whole bar was eyeing the four now while the barkeep poured whiskey into the glass of the old man.

"Every sailor knows that they need to avoid Mallet Island if they want to survive. Do you think we tell some sea myth just to scare the people? We tell them so people know of the risk they are walking in if they don't listen to our warnings," says the old man before he lifted his glass to drink from it again.

"We are Hunters. We know the risk we are walking in but we aren't defenseless," says Vergil as the bar kept glaring at them.

"No ship will take you there. If you all want to go you will do so on your own," says the old man as John brought out the map.

"Which island is it?" asks Vincent as the old man looked at the blood-red eyes John has before pointing at the island in the middle of nowhere.

"It is right there. It is hiding in the most so be careful not to run into the reef or you won't be able to return from there ever again," says the old man warning them of the danger.

"Don't worry, we won't go by ship," says Nesiara as she placed money on the counter while saying, "Your drinks go on me tonight."

"Thank you very much and good luck out there," says the old man as they left the bar again when the barkeep looks at the money to make sure it was real.

"It seems your debt was settled," says the barkeep pocketing the money away before the old man seemed to have vanished from his seat.

The group was at the Harbor again when John grabs both Dante and Vergil before they take off and fly towards Mallet Island.

After some minutes they arrived there as the mist wasn't bothering them before they landed on what seemed the landing port of the island as it was connected to the castle by a bridge.

"So this is Mallet Island," says Dante as he walks some steps forward while spinning his body around once to take everything in.

"Take this serious, Dante. Mundus was the person that ordered the assassination of our mother," says Vergil as he followed Dante.

"And he had your father and his followers imprisoned in the Demon World," adds John to what Vergil just said as Nesiara stretched her hand out summoning Omega in her hand.

"And he is my prey," says Nesiara seriously as Omega began to release molten lava which burned holes into the ground.

She rushed past Dante and Vergil using her insane speed as she didn't open the gates of the castle but broke through it as if it was nothing.

"He is her prey?" asks Dante looking at John who manifested Omega in his hand.

"She really hates Mundus for what he did to your mother. Also, I faced Mundus before in the Demon World when I freed your father. He isn't really a challenge," says John as he walked slowly towards the castle.

"So we are getting carried?" asks Dante as he followed John.

"Something like that but your blood is needed to release the seal on the Island and Force Edge needs to take its real form," says John as he pointed at Dante who had both Rebellion and Force Edge with him.

Vergil was wearing his Beowulf shinguards and gauntlets while holding on to his Yamato. He followed John as well as they needed to strengthen Force Edge to its true form.

"So what is the true form of Force Edge?" asks Dante curious as they approached the castle.

"Sparda," says John as they were confused.

"Our Father?" asks Vergil as John shakes his head.

"No, the sword your father used to wield. Every Devil has his own weapon that is named after them. Sparda has the Devilsword Sparda, while I have Omega which used to be Devilsword John," says John as they reached the gate Nesiara destroyed.

"She destroyed the whole gate," says Dante as the gate was still dropping drops of some of its melted pieces from above.

"Be careful not to be touched by the drops. You will heal but the pain you will feel will be horrendous," says John warning them as they passed the gate carefully to not be hit by the drops that were still falling.

"So the first hurdle is mastered," says Dante joking about their situation as they walked down the corridor.

"The next hurdle is to find the pieces of Sparda's lost power which is holding the seal together. Once Force Edge absorbed all of its former strength the seal holding Mundus on this Island will be gone and he will be able to roam the Human World," says John which now confused the twins.

"So we are helping Mundus in a way?" asks Dante as John chuckles.

"Indeed, we are helping him so we can fight him. He needs the blood of Sparda to release him from this seal since it was Sparda that sealed him in this godforsaken place," says John as they soon arrived at a grand hall and they find a giant dead spider in that hall.

"Nesiara is working faster than you did last time," says Dante as the incident they first met he had to fight against all the demons alone.

"It was so you gained strength that you would be needing for this event. Vergil would also be in this place," says John as Vergil was confused.

"What do you mean?" asks Vergil seriously as John looked at him.

"I changed your future," says John as he looked at the spider which was only playing dead.

"You were supposed to fight Dante back then instead of surrendering. You would have fallen into the Demon World and you would have fought Mundus and failed.

Mundus would then begin to torture you until he gets to your mind and he shaped you into a new form called Nelo Angelo also known as Dark Knight to mock your father.

You and Dante would clash here in this place at least three times and you would win two out of three times because you began to remember who you were because of Dante breaking your helmet.

After that, you left Mallet Island to find yourself again until you returned to Fortuna only for Ava to find you as a broken husk.

You killed her and once you knew what you did you must have left Yamato behind after breaking your sword out of rage.

Your son in the end reconstructed Yamato and some years later you returned to get Yamato back from your son.

And that is the end of this tale since that future will never happen," says John as Vergil was looking at him surprised at first before he looked grim, and then he was in grief.

"So I would have killed Ava. What about Nero? What happened to him after he became an orphan?" asks Vergil as John sighs taking some steps towards the spider.

"He would be raised by a family that has already two children. I think they were friends with Ava since they accepted Nero even with his Devil Arm. Even though he hides it while going to Church in a plaster," says John as Vergil seemed to be thinking hard for a moment.

"Friends of Ava," says Vergil as he thought hard about it when he says, "They have two children right?"

"Yes, a male and female," says John as he pointed his sword at the spider that was playing dead.

"Then they must be Eve and Adam which took him in since they are quite religious since their children are called Credo and Kyrie," says Vergil as he could only see them as the people taking Nero in as a favor for Ava.

"They might be it but if you follow the path you are going nothing I just said will ever happen," says John as they completely forgot about Dante who saw a place in which he could place Force Edge.

He stuck his sword into the opening that activating a mechanism that infused Force Edge with a part of its lost power.
