With the blue sky shining on his head, there was a youth travelling through the forest. The leaves blocked the sun light making it seemingly beautiful. But the youth didn't care for it as he ran down through the forest dodging all the small tree branches and bushes. All that was on his mind was survival, He still remembered that time when he used to sit in his own room and practice magic all day, yet now He was running for his life

"Looks like I lost them", said the youth and quickly took off his hood.

What was beneath was a black haired boy who was neither beautiful nor ugly.

It was hard to believe that a person so average could exist.

The boy waver his hands and his face started to change shape, his black haired turned brown and his eyes took a colour of jade green . Also his height which was 5'7 turned into 6'3.

He was now a young boy who could even charm the most beautiful women

As he was about to sit down he heard some noise coming from the surroundings

"Looks like I'm surrounded", He said as he got up from the ground and dusted his clothes

Suddenly a man wearing a black hood materialised from the ground,He looked ominous and just from a look in his eyes, one could tell that this was a seasoned warrior,an experienced killer.

He suddenly removed his hood and underneath was a man who looked to be around his 40's. He had a trimmed beard and looked ready for battle

"Young master, why don't we stop this cat and mouse chase and you return to us peacefully"

He said whole looking at the young man with jade eyes

Although the man was being polite, one could see the hostility in his eyes. If the young man refused then he would use force

"And why would I do that?, I'm just pending my own death" said the youth as he started circulating his mana

"You should know very well that having magic prowess in our family is forbidden, even if I don't resist and comply with you l, the family head will kill me with his own hands"

"Yes, I know very well what you are taking about but you are mistaken about something"

The man said as he took out a long sword from his back, it was a beautiful long sword with gems imbeded into its hilt

"It's not that I don't want to deal with you, it's just that it's troublesome to do work on my own" said the man as he swung his sword diagonally

If one looked close enough then one could see a faint red hue covering the sword

The young man was alarmed as he quickly waved his hand and conjured a purple barrier

A sonic boom was produced as the two energies collided with each other

"Huh", the man was shocked as his pupils shook. He was the captain of the 2nd squad, He wasn't careless in the battlefield and thus earned the name Night Demon Freg,

He had put his all into that sword swing, it couldn't be blocked unless the barrier was of 6th circle or above

Freg's which have been calm all this time suddenly started beating faster after this realisation

'But how, he's only 17 years old. 6th circle at 17 is crazy'

Freg quickly used his agile body to step back and started to revaluate the boy

"When did you reach the 6th circle, Merlin?"

Freg said in a threatening time. Unlike before he was now completely serious about taking down Merlin

All the people that Freg had brought along were shocked to their core. Merlin learning magic was one thing but learning to that level was an insult to their family.

And Merlin who is of pure blood had himself committed such heinous crime.

"You got some guts there Freg. If you had talked so formally to me at the capital then your head would be rolling on the ground"

Merlin said as stared at Freg from inside the barrier.

"That maybe but look around you, we are in the middle of nowhere and all I need to do is bring His Majesty your corpse, although the order was to capture you, He will understand as you have displayed such high magic prowess. You will be dead anyway "

Freg smugged as he started circulating his aura and concentrated it at the edge of his blade

"You have quite the confidence there. What makes you think that you can kill me?"

Freg quickly jolted towards the barrier with all his might, his feet obliterated the ground as he lept forward and his speed almost reached the speed of sound

"I am the 2nd squad captain, and you are just an inexperienced boy who just know some firework tricks"

The sword collided with the barrier once again and this time there were some cracks which had appeared this time.

'I knew it, although it's a 6th circle barrier. The user is also taken into account. This kid must just have reached 6th star, there's no way he can stop me when I'm at full power'

As Freg was having such thoughts his eyes met with Merlin.

Freg quickly jumped back from the bloodlust leaking from his eyes

All the other subordinates of Freg who were watching were also shocked and terrified

Merlin said as his eye's started glowing blue from all the mana he was circulating

'I don't have a good feeling about this,is that also somekind of 6th circle magic? But I haven't heard of something like this?'

An astranoid the size of a castle was headed down there way and they also couldn't escape because it was already on them before they realised it

"WHAT!! What is this?!! How can this be 6th circle magic? This is in the realms of demi gods"

"You are right, but weaklings shouldn't complain about how they die"

Merlin smirked as he disappeared from their eyes
