Chapter 64: "The Green Flash"

Kai and Zach exchanged a nervous glance, wondering what Mayor Barry's brother Larry wanted with them. Barry Green leaned back in his chair, a hint of a smile on his face.

"Larry, here, is a special case," Barry explained. "He's an S-Rank mercenary, known for his speed and agility. They call him the Green Flash."

Larry nodded, his expression still calm and collected. He wore metal boots and an all-black outfit, which contrasted with his green dreadlocks.

Zach's eyes widened as he remembered something. "Wait, I've read about a Green Demon, a mercenary who was super violent and deadly. But... you don't seem like that at all," Zach said, looking at Larry with a mix of confusion and curiosity.

Larry chuckled, a low, smooth sound. "Ah, that's just a nickname, Zach. I've earned it in the past, true, but I've also learned to control my temper. I'm not as... impulsive as I used to be."

Kai and Zach exchanged a skeptical glance, but Larry's calm demeanor put them at ease. They couldn't imagine this cool and collected guy being a ruthless mercenary.

"So, what do you want from us, Larry?" Kai asked, curiosity getting the better of him.

"Do you two know about the Gods' Proxy?" Larry asked, his eyes gleaming with interest.

Kai and Zach nodded in unison. "Yeah, we've heard of it," Zach replied.

Larry's smile grew wider. "Good. I heard the gods proxy want to host a tournament of power, and whoever wins will get a wish granted by the Gods themselves."

Kai's eyes widened. "A wish? Any wish?"

Larry nodded. "Any wish within the Gods' power to grant. But be warned, the tournament won't be easy. Only the strongest will survive."

Zach's eyes gleamed with excitement. "We're in. When do we start?"

Larry chuckled. "Eager, aren't you? The tournament will begin in a month's time. Get ready, boys. The Gods' Proxy awaits."
