Chapter 17: Head Clan

The news of the Takahashi clan being eliminated spread like wildfire across the globe. Every major news story carried the haunting headline: "Takahashi Clan Eliminated, A Mysterious Island Erased from Existence." Everyone was stunned as numerous reports stated that it was one person who wiped out the entire clan and destroyed the mysterious island that was uncharted in a single night.

Shizuka who read the news released placed the newspaper on the coffee table and released a heavy sigh. She looked at the clock on the wall and then got off the sofa, heading to the stairs. But a knock on the door caused her to stop and turn around.

The young woman in a tank top with dark baggy pants opened the door and widened her eyes when she saw Mikhail with his top attire tattered. Without letting the temporary head clan of Genji say something, Shizuka hugged him tightly, surprising Mikhail.

"Shizuka… Is there something wrong?" he asked only for Shizuka to slap him in the face. "WHAT THE HELL?"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY WHAT THE HELL? I AM WORRIED ABOUT YOU, IDIOT!" Shizuka screamed at Mikhail's face. 

Mikhail smiled and then chuckled, which soon turned into laughter. He entered the house and then said, "I am completely fine except that I am really hungry."

The fuming Shizuka calmed herself down and then asked, "Is it true?"

Mikhail's smile vanished immediately as he simply replied, "Yes."

"No-"

"Not a single Takahashi was saved. Not even a child. Maybe I am a monster after all," Mikhail grimly stated to Shizuka, making her look down when he called himself a monster. "Hey, what's wrong?"

"Genji… You are not a monster. Okay, let's not talk about this anymore. How about you clean yourself? Did you bring any clothes?" Mikhail gave him a 'are you serious' look at Shizuka. "Fine, fine, fine. Just go take a bath, I'll go grab some clothes for you. Maybe the clothes that I bought for you are still in my room."

"Clothes for me?" asked Mikhail with a smirk, making Shizuka gently punch him. "Alright, alright."

After taking a nice and long shower, Mikhail went to Shizuka's room and grabbed the clothes that Shizuka placed on the bed. He grabbed the light khaki baggy pants and wore them, but suddenly, Shizuka entered the room and froze. Her cheeks reddened when she saw Mikhail's body.

But she snapped when she noticed the numerous scars all over his body and unconsciously came closer to him. When she realized what she had just done, Shizuka quickly regained her composure and inquired about those scars.

Mikhail gave a small smile and said, "Six months of being tortured by Irene."

The two left the house, but then they were greeted by a group of people in suits that were called Hunters. One of them approached Mikhail and said, "Genji Mikazuki, you have been summoned to the council immediately."

"Can we do this later? I am very hungry right now." Mikhail said with an angry look to the man.

"Negative, our task is to bring you to the council immediately. With or without force. Your call, Genji-sama." 

Sensing the tension between the two, Shizuka calmed Mikhail down and shook her head. She then whispered, "As much as I hate to admit it, when the council requests your presence, I believe it is important. I bet they are going to discuss your friend being an outsider to the clan as well as your role in leading the Genji."

Mikhail rolled his eyes and then nodded with all of them immediately. They appeared in front of a building where the man gestured to him to enter the building. Shizuka then told him that she would wait outside as Mikhail entered the building.

The young man with dark sunglasses stood at the center of the vast room and crossed his arms. He then coldly asked, "What do you want?"

An elderly woman with grey hair tied in buns looked at Mikhail and said, "Genji Mikazuki, we have summoned you to discuss an important matter which is bringing an outsider to our clan."

Then, a bald council member with a long moustache, spoke up with a disapproval voice, "Bringing an outsider to our clan and taking him as a student is a serious crime to the clan. It is a reckless decision."

"I can do whatever I want, especially after I saved the entire world from that Satan bastard seven years ago. Tell me, when I was fighting him while the fate of head clans in my hand, where were you guys? Hiding behind piles of corpses like a bunch of cowards?" Mikhail angrily asked them. 

One of the council members with scars on his face and short spiky black hair angrily asked, "Who do you think you are?"

Mikhail smirked and replied, "The one who killed Satan. The Genji that was born with Kamigan."

A calm, collected council member, spoke up, "Genji Mikazuki, we understand who you are and how important you are to our clan as well as your role in saving the world years ago, however we must address this important issue." Why did you bring an outsider to our clan? Don't you know the risk of bringing an outsider who might steal our clan's knowledge and leak it to the enemies."

"Enemies? Who are the enemies? Takahashi? They're gone. Izumi? God knows where they are hiding right now like a bunch of worms," Mikhail put his hands in his pocket and continued to say, "The reason why I bring my friend to our clan is because he possesses raw power that one day might surpass me, and I can't let Irene lay a finger on him."

"We understand that however regarding the Takahashi Clan. Do you eliminate them?" asked a council member with a grumpy voice.

Mikhail simply replied, "Yes."

"There is a consequence for doing that-"

Mikhail interrupted the council member by saying, "The Takahashi Clan has been our enemy since the Heian Era. Even the head clans killed one another in a fight. Not to mention, the Takahashi Clan is known for using gifted children as mindless weapons, kidnapping and experimenting on babies, and even killing the heir of the Genji head clan when the heir was just a baby."

"The only reason why I didn't kill Ryujin and her siblings seven years ago because Arashi-san and that is why I spare their lives. But when Ryujin murdered her own uncle in his sleep, I see no reason for me not to eliminate the clan."

Mikhail then added, "Remember this, the only reason why the Takahashi Clan didn't invade us years ago was because of Arashi-san. Many of his people decided to redeem their ancestors' mistake by forming an alliance with us, however their wish never came true because of Ryujin and her siblings. I see no reason for me to stay here anymore, I am leaving now."

The young Genji turned around and began to walk away, but then he stopped and warned them, "And one more thing. Do not try to do anything to my friend. If I find out any of you are trying to harm him, I will personally kill all of you."

Everyone froze in fear when they saw Mikhail's lone Kamigan. They then watched Mikhail slowly vanish from sight. 

"What a bunch of old fossils. Honestly, they all should just stay at home and spend the remainder of their days." Mikhail said as he left the building and saw Shizuka's talking with Akira. 

"Genji-sama." Akira greeted with a bow, causing Mikhail to scratch his head.

"Akira, I think you should stop doing that. Even though I am the head clan, I am still younger than you." Mikhail informed Akira.

"Nonsense Genji-sama-"

"It's okay, Akira. What brings you here?" asked Mikhail to Akira.

Akira replied, "Your friend has woken up and he wants to meet you, Genji-sama."

"I see. Thank you, Akira," Mikhail said to Akira and signaled Shizuka to follow him. He then said, "Also, I'm quite hungry. Can you tell the maids to prepare a simple breakfast for me and Shizuka?"

Akira nodded her head and excused herself as the two former enemies walked to the medical room. En route to the location, Shizuka asked Mikhail what happened during the meeting with the council.

"It's nothing interesting other than asking me about Takahashi and why I bring Ammar to the clan. There's something off about one of them which is the long moustache guy." Mikhail informed Shizuka as he entered the medical room and greeted the medical staff with a smile and thanked them for their jobs.

"What's wrong with him?" Shizuka asked.

"I don't know but if anything happens to me. Please keep an eye on Ammar." 

The two of them arrived at Ammar's bed with Mikhail called Ammar. He then took a seat as Shizuka decided to check on Mizuki. 

"Hey," Mikhail greeted as he took off the sunglasses, showing his eyes. "How's your sleep?"

"That's funny. I almost got myself killed," Ammar said as he adjusted his position on the bed. "What happened when I was out?"

"Nothing much other than I am the head clan for a while since Mizuki is in coma which means I can't train you anymore. Therefore, Shizuka will train you," Mikhail informed Ammar. "When you almost die, does anything happen to you?"

"Hmm? Like what?" Ammar asked.

"I don't know. Like feeling completely angry or suddenly feeling powerful?"

Ammar thought about the night he fought his opponent and then shook his head. He then informed Mikhail that he did however have a strange dream where he was met by an old man in a black robe.

"Really? Did he say something or give something?" asked Mikhail with curiosity.

Ammar shook his head and said, "No, but he did call himself the Bearer of Light and told me to call him whenever I am in danger."

"I see…
