Suddenly, he heard chocking sounds from behind him, getting further and further away. Not hearing any footsteps rushing towards him, Luke turned around.

He saw that one of the two heads had its mouth gaping open, with a river of crimson blood gushing from it, while the other head was reaching into the mouth of the first, trying to remove something.
Seeing this, Luke stopped running and decided to eliminate this creature as soon as possible, since the help coming at the end of the countdown might not be able to finish the creature completely, leaving a latent threat to Luke.
Quickly, he took out 2 complete stakes and dashed towards the functional head.

Luke lunged each stack onto an eye of the working head, to completely blind it, creating another fountain of blood, that splattered all over his clothes.
Just as the blinded head was about to react, he pulled out both the stakes and lunged them in deeper.

Repeating this process another 2 times, the head finally collapsed. This caused nearly half its HP bar to plummet

Not wasting any time, Luke used the last remnants of his strength to stab the remaining paralyzed head multiple time.

Finally, it too collapsed in a pool of blood, its HP reaching 0.
A few notifications popped up in his interface, but Luke did not have the strength to check them, as he collapsed to the ground, laying in the pool of blood with the corpse, panting for air.

At this moment, Barking sounds came a few meters away. Harlem, Jacob and the hounds had finally arrived. It was the help he was supposed to receive at the end of the mission.
But Luke did was not relieved, since he had single-handedly solved the problem. With nothing let in the tank, Luke fainted from exhaustion.
He had no doubt increased his dexterity and Energy by a lot, however, his Vitality and stamina were still the same, resulting in such an outcome.
When he woke up once again, he found himself in his bed, his right arm stinging intensely.
"Don't get up you brat! The bird's beak punctured your arm. It isn't too bad, but you will have to rest for around a week, said the doctor."
"Sir Jacob! Oh I see, I am back. What happened to Gard."
"Tch. Such tenacious will. He is fine. Completely fine for someone who was chased down by such a strong monster. Be more worried about yourself you brat!"
"Ok." Luke tersely acknowledged before continuing, "Sir Jacob, did you collect the monster corpse?"
"Yes" Jacob unhesitantly replied
"How much would it be worth, including the monster core?"
"About 350 silver"
"Then-" just as Luke was about to ask for something, Jacob interjected.
"Yes. You are free, you can also take those two with you. I have made a great profit from you and I am satisfied. I will take you to the slave market once you recover to remove your branding"
"This." Luke was momentarily at a loss for words. This was exactly what he wanted to do.
"You stole the words right out of my mouth." Luke short his head before bowing his head and continuing, "Thank you Sir Jacob. If I had been bought by any other person, I wouldn't have been able to see such a day in my entire life."
He had spoken with the remnant feelings within this body; that is the remnant will of The original Lucas. With this, along with the freeing of his two slave-mates, Luke had finally completely inherited this body.
"Hmph! If you were bought by anyone else, you would not be alive today!"
Luke pondered for a moment before coming to a realization of the humor of the situation. The original Lucas had not lived to this very day. For some unknown reason, he had died, or been sealed deep within the body, and Luke had taken over. Perhaps one day he might return?
After chatting with Jacob for a while longer, the latter left since he had to supervise the other two slaves to make up for Luke's work until the 3 new slaves that Jacob had ordered arrive.
Now that he had the time, Luke checked the notifications he had received during the battle.
