Author's note: this is from Seraphina's point of view

The bidding for the silky armor started, and the price was climbing quickly.

"Do you need that?" I asked when I saw Killian bidding for ten million gold coins. Didn't he say that he wanted a necklace?

Killian smirked. "Not me. But I know a person who wants it." He raised the bid again. And again.

Killian chuckled when the item reached fifty million and then he placed another bid.

This game lasted until the bid reached a staggering amount of one hundred and twenty-six million gold coins. Killian leaned back to the sofa and popped a funny-shaped nut into his mouth like nothing out of the ordinary had happened.

He was responsible for driving the price up for whoever was the other bidder, and he was enjoying it. I couldn't believe he was so petty. Shameless.
