Chapter 10 : Passing Time

After Mary was basically dragged to the area. Started to try to make excuses. "Do I really have to take this stupid aptitude test. I mean, you do know whats going to happen. Nothing. Nothing is going to happen because I dont have any aptitudes, unlike stupid James over there." She then growled at me. "Hey wait a minute... stupid? Now you're just jealous!" I spoke kinda angry. "Well my dear, it is worth a shot. You never know what is going to happen." Sylinia said giggling. "Fine I will do it.." Mary said walking towards the crystal ball. "Know then place your hand on th-" She was suddenly interrupted by Mary saying "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know how this works." as is she was bothered by doing the aptitude test.

She then put her hand on top of the crystal ball and nothing happened. "See I told you. It was just a waste of time..." She then said while starting to walk away. Then suddenly before Mary hand left the crystal ball Sylinia called out to Mary to look back. When she looked back she saw two colors, lime and cyan.

"ALLLLLLL RIGHT!!" Mary instantly spoke with a bright shine in her eye. "YES WAHOO! THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!" She spoke. "Yes, you two will now need to practice your magic." Sylinia spoke. "ALL RIGHT THAT IS A PRAYER I CAN AGREE TO!" Mary spoke (obviously) excited. "Wait just a hot second and stop. We are going to do this TOMORROW you got that?" Sylinia spoke looking up at the sky that I just realized was almost pitch black. "Fine, fine, fine, but you have to train us first thing in the morning. YOU GOT THAT!" Meriselle said with a funny expression. "Sure no problem. "I said looking at Meriselle.

The next day.....

"AAHHHHHHH!!" I woke up in morning with a pain in my stomach. "JAMES WAKE UP IT IS TIME FOR THE TRAINING!!" Mary then yelled. "Did you cause that pain?" I slowly picked up my head ask. "Yeah so what who cares?" she said grinning. I look out the window expecting to be blinded by the morning light. In surprise.... it is black and blue with sparkles out in the great black sky. "Is it... midnight? Seriously you woke me up with an elbow to the stomach in the middle of the night???" I said putting my hand to my head. "You know that Sylinia and Lainveir probably wont be here for hours right." I spoke to Mary. "Meh, who cares lets do some push-ups or meditate or something?" She spoke kinda loudly. "SHHH. BE QUIET YOU ARE GOING TO WAKE UP ZAIFER!!" I whispered loudly. "You do what you want I am going outside to take a stroll." I whispered to her. "Oh good idea can I come too?" Mary spoke. "Uhhhhhhg fine you can join, but you have to put something warm on because if you ask for my jacket you are not going to get it." I spoke to her as she nodded in agreement.

As we walk down a random path for at least a few minuts we never spoke. "Well.... this is awkward." Mary spoke. "Yup..." I spoke wide eyed awkwardly walking. "So ummm.... oh, wanna talk about that book that you had when we first met. For example what tribe are you in?" Mary spoke starting to thaw the ice. "Oh yeah um about that book. It is not actually a family relic. I am also not native so yup." I said dragging my feet across the dirt that made a weird pattern. "Oh really? Wow, I totally thought you were in an actual tribe and you were actually native. So then... what language is that book in. I know it isnt native american so you can not fool me." Mary spoke. "Well I can't trick you now can I huh? Well, to be perfectly honest. I dont know what language that book is set in. All I know is that I am the only person who is able to read it." I spoke noticing that my hand was falling asleep due to the lack of blood getting to my hand. That is because my arms were crossed behind me. Well in other words.... my hand was falling asleep.

"So what is the book about or what does it say?" Meriselle spoke. "Well all I know about it is that it is a book aboit riddles and poems and mystery's. So it is basically a sleuths diary, homework, or notebook." I said trying to remember anything else about the book. "Oh really? Thats cool. So is it bas-" At that moment I heard something and pit my hand over her mouth. I just then realized that we had crossed many forks in the path. "Meriselle. I think something or someone is watching us. Be prepared. Follow the pattern on the path. It will lead you back to the house. So when I say go we run. Do you understand. Nod yes or no." I whispered to Mary and I then took my hand off her hand. She then nodded in agreement. I put up my hand. I had three fingers pointed up, then two, then one... "GO!" I then yelled.
