Juvenile facility

Along with fifteen other young people, Jess was seated in the corner of the cell area of the youth care facility. They were urged to get ready and line up correctly by a baton-weilding guard who had approached their cell.

"Hey," one of the children says to Jess. He tugs Jess' shirt violently and drags him outside the cell to line him up. "We need to line up now," he said. "Don't be a stubborn idiot; we don't want to get beaten by those guards."

The jail officer instructed everyone to line up, walk gently, and proceed to the cafeteria. When Jess enters the juvenile cafeteria, he waits patiently for his food to be served before moving to find an available seat. He is lucky enough to have managed to find one to sit on, but the table was already taken by a group of kids. They grin as they all turn to face him. Jess already had the terrible feeling that confronting these goons would not be a good idea.

Though he made an effort to stay away from them, one of the children regrettably grabbed his collar a second time, pulled, and made him sit down. They chuckled when they saw how he was being carried; one of the children slapped him on the back, making the sound audible.

The kid continued to strike Jess's back firmly as he bit his lip and bore the agony. Jess got up, glaring at the youngster, and decided he'd had enough. "Cool man, it's just a joke, hahaha, a joke," the youngster remarked, whistling.

Jess composed himself. Reminding himself that there was nothing he could do to get out of this jail sooner, he made the decision to get up and move on. To ensure he ate correctly, he chose to sit in the far corner. An hour later, the guard used his speaker to call everyone's attention, and they complied with his instructions to line up appropriately.

All the kids get back inside the prison cell; it's already 8p.m. and they're free to do what they want. Some of them started to discuss life outside, but Jess lay down on the cardboard; this is where he sleeps. It's been a month, and his case is still ongoing. His stress and depression are piling up. He wants to explode, but he's afraid—afraid that he's going to hug the insanity and do something horrible.

Jess was now aware of his ability. For the past few weeks, he has experienced and seen the other world several times. His left eye perceived it differently; the people inside this juvenile are old and innocent kids, while in his reality, this bunch of idiots are a menace to the outside world. And he couldn't accept that he was forced to be in this kind of environment. "I'm not a criminal."

His mother, Olivia, pays him a visit every Friday, along with his lawyer. He gets updates on his trial, and they talk about it, but at the end of the day, all his lawyer says is, "You don't have to worry; I'm doing my best." He wants to tell his mother that he needs a new lawyer. He has absolutely no faith in the skill of his current attorney. Despite entering a not guilty plea, he is unsure of when he should be freed from custody.

-----

On Monday morning, his sleep was interrupted by the loud murmurs of other inmates. He heard that a reporter would visit the youth facility, and they'd expect the reporter's arrival today. Other kids discussed what they should do when the reporter arrived.

A boy in his twelves raised his hand. "I know, I know! We should bowl our eyes out like we have been crying for days!" He suggested. "You see, if they reported how these guards treated us, the world would pour their attention here, and they would think to let us go." Most of the kids agree except for one.

Jess's facial reaction initiates one of the huge guys in their cell, even if he doesn't want to participate. The youngster utilizes his muscles, which give the impression that he works out frequently, to scare his fellow inmates. The boy tried to intimidate Jess by walking in front of him, but it didn't succeed.

Jess found it amusing and funny how gradually his personality shifted from being a coward to not caring at all. He will genuinely run away in a heartbeat and hide if he runs across this guy when he is still a student.

But now?

He wants to slice this man into pieces, like a ball of meat.

"What do you want?" Jess asked. The boy raises his leg and kicks him immediately on the chest, and that makes him writhe in pain. "You don't want to join?" he asked afterwards, and the other cellmates joined and cheered, "Fight! Fight! Fight!"

This always happened; one or two of his cellmates would try to annoy him or beat him up for fun. All of them always found pleasure in beating him up for unknown reasons. And the boy who wants to beat his ass this time is much bigger than him. The guy this time was already seventeen years old, and he always acts as a boss in this cell.

Jess tried to scream for help, but this fella grabbed his mouth. He put his finger to his lips and told him to shut up. The other cellmates stood and clustered in front to hide the current activity. "Boy, don't worry, this is needed so the reporter can see the life inside this prison."

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

Jess was struck in the face so forcefully that he had no chance to protect himself. Two more youngsters took hold of his arm as he attempted to lift his guard. "Fu—" Suddenly, a punch rained down on his face, striking just his face after hitting his right eye. He only came to a halt when he struck his jaw with a loud snapping sound.

At the sight of Jess's deformed face and comatose state, everyone stopped applauding and fell silent. Another kid from the back inquired, "Did you kill him?" He dismissed it, saying, "No way. He's just unconscious." His head snapped off his body without warning.

"Eh?" was his last word before succumbing to death; he even didn't realize that he died that day. The remaining cellmates couldn't comprehend what had happened. Before they could get back into their senses, an unknown force cut their bodies one by one.

The other inmates who were in the other cell screamed to the top of their lungs as the horror of slaughter was happening in front of their eyes.
