As time passed by people came and go from the café. It was soon Yuria's turn to enter the rumored room. A short lady approached them and led them to the room. Luckily, they allowed people to associated to the involved person to enter and observe. Tezariah made a lot of experimentation inside the room when they entered. He began spreading mana, absorbing it, checking its properties and so on and so forth, all within a minute or two of entering the room.
The room was fairly simple. It looked like a traditional Japanese room. A table and two chairs were in front with a woman sitting in distal end. Behind her was a long window. Weirdly enough, the window was foggy and you can't really see any reflection.
A kitchen can also be seen at the side. It was a small kitchen which had tool and ingredients for making black coffee. Or just a coffee maker, black coffee in a sachet, and hot water.
Yuria sat down. The short lady left and in front of her another lady who was wearing a traditional "miko" or shrine maiden kimono was sitting. The woman was beautiful even. At one point one could see that she was the embodiment of pristine beauty. She smiled and looked at Yuria. Yuria felt more relaxed from this smile. On the other hand, Tezariah looked at the woman interestingly. Her smile was indeed nice, but the use of Charming magic did go unnoticed to him. He stood there but did nothing as he didn't want to jump the gun especially when the woman was doing any harm to Yuria.
The woman spoke in a soft voice. " Here are the rules and things to note that you must follow before you go back in time. First, the time you can stay in the past is from pouring the coffee into the cup until the coffee gets cold. Second, whatever you do, you must drink all the coffee before it becomes cold. Three, everything that happens in the past will not change the future. Lastly, do not spill the coffee."
Yuria asked what would happen if she did not finish the coffee or if she spilt it. The woman answered that if she did not finish it, she will get stuck in that timeline like a stuck ghost of the past. If she spills it, she will slowly lose her memories of that time, becoming a gap in a person's memory. If all of the coffee was spilt, she will lose all her memories and will be forced back.
The rules alone was interesting to Tezariah as it was chilling to Yuria. To Yuria such rules were absurd but to Tezariah, such rules were equal thus this magic might not be a scam.
A few second later, Yuria steeled herself and nodded to the woman. The woman stood and went to the kitchen by the side. She started to make the coffee. A few minutes later, she returned with a pot filled with hot coffee and an empty cup. After placing the cup, she filled it with coffee. Tezariah curiously watched by the side. The woman glanced at Tezariah every now and then seemingly to reciprocate the curiosity.
After Yuria took her first sip, Tezariah saw her soul immediately entering a state of dissonance with her body. Slowly it entered the mirror behind the woman's original seat. After which he saw a soulless, or rather an incomplete soul, sip a small amount of coffee. Like a zombie, she sipped coffee every now and then.
After drinking all of the coffee. Tezariah watched again as the soul from the mirror came out and directly entered Yuria's body. She slowly awoke, first teary-eyed, then suppressing the urge to cry. She looked at the coffee for a good minute, then to the woman. She didn't know what to say, or what to do.
Tezariah approached her and hard-patted her back, then patted her head. "Stupid woman, cry if you must, trust me... No one will know that you cried." Yuria looked at Tezariah. This seem to break all her control as she cried. The woman offered Yuria a tissue. As their hands meet, the woman held for a few seconds and jerked back her hand in surprise. Like waking up from a dream, she looked at Yuria with surprise in her eyes.
Tezariah and Yuria on the other hand looked back at the woman weirdly. Immediately though an idea started to form in his mind. As they were about to leave...
"Be careful, your fate is different from others. You have a hard battle to fight and lonely path to take. This will affect everyone." the woman suddenly blurted out. Yuria and Tezariah looked back.
Yuria nodded and walked out while Tezariah felt something was off. The feeling was the same when he first encounter his first assassination. It was like there was a hidden danger that he knew was coming but didn't know when, how and where it will happen. This feeling of not knowing what that woman meant, would mean that he will have to play by the ear and react accordingly.
Tezariah hated how fate was a stupid bitch sometimes. Especially when it hid almost 95% of all things then suddenly slams it to a person. To him and to many other wizards, this particular thing called "fate" is what they try to defy, with calculations and planning. As for warriors, well... let's just say brute forcing against "fate" is what many of them would do.
The baffled and thinking Tezariah was cut off when Yuria stopped walking.
"Thank you." Yuria said. Tezariah looked at the strong woman in front of him. He finally found an interesting thing...
