But that was the least of Adrian's worries as a mysterious Organization had already locked its sights on him after finding out he was the key to their goal —plunge the world into eternal darkness thereby birthing chaos. With his life hanging by a thread after he was born, Adrian was left with two choices; solo his hardships in the Castle and die, or join the mysterious Organization and live. As for his answer, it was none. Cause who said he had to accept his fate?! Why leave your life in fate's hands?! If there is no third option why not make one?! Choosing to defy his fate despite the odds stacked against him, Adrian gradually shapes his destiny in a world where the strong rule and the line between good and evil is non-existent.

Overpowered before being born

"Uh?" Startled by the seriousness released from Hermes, Adrian watched as the letter slowly transformed into a contract.

Passing the contract to Adrian, Hermes' previous seriousness vanished into thin air.

Adrian read through the contract just to make sure that he was aware of all terms as he knew no god would stoop so low as to dupe a mortal.

"Uhm... The pen." Adrian let out an awkward laugh as he scratched the side of his head.

Making a pen magically appear next to Adrian, Hermes looked at Adrian and said. "Are you okay with all the terms?"

"Yes, yes I am." Unhesitatingly grabbing the pen floating bedside him, Adrian smoothly wrote his signature on the contract.

'I have no regrets.' Adrian said to himself with a smile as anticipated how his second life would unfold.

Smiling, Hermes said. "You made the right choice."

Snap...

As the sound of his finger snap traveled through the air, the contract was set ablaze as a light shot out from it and into Adrian's chest.

Hel also had a smile on her beautiful yet pale face after she saw Adrian sign the contract. Snapping his fingers again, Hermes made them disappear from the room.

Appearing in a space where a magnificent portal hung in the sky, dozens of souls could be seen entering it with various gods leaving the place.

Amazed by the gigantic beauty in front of them, Adrian stared at it with wide-opened eyes.

"That is the Gate of Reincarnation child, after entering it you'll start your second life." Hermes pointed at the gigantic swirling portal.

"So is it connected to only one world or different worlds?" Looking at Hermes, Adrian found it stupid for him to go back to Earth since there was only one gate. If it was like that, all the blessings and gifts he received would all turn out to be useless.

Hermes said after hearing Adrian's question. "It's not connected to a single World it's connected to all Worlds and it's the one that determines the World you reincarnate in."

"I see... So can you tell me things about the Worlds I might end up in?" Hopefully looking at Hermes, Adrian was happy that he'd be able to get another advantage over others.

If Hermes shared 1% of the information he knew with Adrian, Adrian would be able to plan ahead of others since he'd have a brief idea of their World, unlike others.

"Even if I knew all the Worlds it could take you to I'd never tell you." Unhesitatingly turning down Adrian's request, Hermes continued. "There are things mortals should never know."

"You should get going," Hermes said before turning his back to the portal.

Taking a few more steps, Hermes stopped walking and said. "Try your best in your next life, Hel and I are rooting for you."

Adrian nodded before giving them a deep bow and saying. "I'm truly grateful for all that you did."

"Huff..." Adrian tried to calm his rapidly beating heart as he walked towards the portal with a smile.

With unhidden excitement, Adrian walked into the portal while looking forward to his next life.

Seeing Adrian's figure get consumed by the portal, Hel had a smile on her face as she said. "You forgot to tell him that it may take a while before he reincarnates."

"Oh, that." Hermes looked at the portal for a while before he continued. "He'll just have to find out himself."

As she laughed lightly, Hel brought out a fan before placing it in front of her mouth. "Shall we?"

"Yes, we shall."

The both of them disappeared from the room after Hermes was by Hel's side.

"Huh?" After what seemed to be an eternity, Adrian groggily opened his eyes.

"Where am I?" Adrian said after only seeing the darkness that threatened to consume him.

Heaving a sigh, Adrian ran his eyes through the darkness until his attention was drawn by a transparent blue screen in front of him.

"This must be my system," Adrian muttered before slowly reading through the things in front of him.

[As a result of signing a contract with the god of Magic Hermes, you've received the following blessings;

-Your mana pool has been increased by 200% granting you a longer time to use spells.

-The cooldown of all your spells has been reduced by 25% and the power of all spells has been increased by 25%. Your magical resistance has also been increased by 25%.

-Being a follower of the Magic god, you can comprehend all types of magic as long as you are exposed to it regularly or you are from a race with extremely high magical talents.

-After gaining enough mastery over all forms of Elemental magic, you can mix different Elements to create something far more powerful and deadlier. For example, Dust, Smoke, Magma, Storm, etc.]

"Quite overpowered if I'm to be honest." Looking at all the buffs he had gotten before he was born, Adrian was sure that after his birth he'd be seen as a prodigy by all.

"The first and second blessings are quite easy to understand and use but the third and fourth are like random draws." As he ran his gaze across the blue screen, Adrian muttered.

"The third one depends on if someone is born into a rich family where they could gain access to knowledge about other forms of magic or a race that has high magical talents like an Elf, Fairy, or Leshy." Subconsciously praying that his shitty luck won't screw him up, Adrian kept on staring at his third blessing.

"And the fourth, it depends on life span. If I'm reincarnated as an Elf I would tick the boxes of both the third and fourth blessings but if I'm a human I'd have to be from an extremely rich and influential family." Adrian said as he realized if he was a human from a rich family he could use Elixirs so that his life span would increase.

Although he would be sad if he couldn't utilize all his blessings, Adrian would be content with doing the things he couldn't do in his past life.

Done analyzing all his blessings, Adrian became bored after waiting for a few minutes and seeing that nothing had happened.

Dismissing the notification in front of him, a light bulb came to life in Adrian's head. "Status."

As another transparent blue screen slowly materialized in front of him, a smile was on Adrian's face as he watched rows of text appear on the screen.

Happy that he won't be reincarnated with stats worse than a Goblin's, Adrian laughed as he stared at his stats.

As he made his system close, Adrian wondered why his reincarnation was taking so long.

After waiting for what he thought to be half an hour, Adrian saw tiny cracks appearing not too far away from him.

Feeling not an ounce of danger from the cracks, Adrian felt like he was gradually getting pulled towards it.

With the cracks expanding to a 2-meter yellow portal in under five seconds, the force at which it drew Adrian towards it rapidly increased.

Not resisting the portal's pull, Adrian was gradually stretched before he swirled in a direction similar to that of the portal.

With Adrian and the portal disappearing from the pitch-black space, Adrian was on his way to the World where his legend was about to begin.
