It was somewhat ironic. Fredrinn greatly valued knights like Kel in his territory, directly giving him the authority as a temporary village head. But when he fought them himself, they were literally no different than ants.
A swing of his sword hadn't even touched them when they directly exploded because of the air resistance. Sometimes, the difference between men is larger than one with dogs.
The manor was so large that it wouldn't be strange if it took a few hours before the outside could hear what happened, but the commotion he caused was so significant that even the people in this territory became aware of it.
Their faces contorted in fear, and they hurriedly ran to the manor to confirm the news. Their belief in the background of the branch family was the reason they still disbelieved.
However, the gates were in rumbles, and the dilapidated manor became desolate, extinguishing any awe they had towards the branch family. They were immediately dominated by fear.
Someone who doesn't even care about the Kennel Duchy... What sort of terrifying figure is this?
"So terrifying!"
"I just saw that the manor a couple of minutes ago was doing as usual, but in that amount of time, it was directly destroyed?"
"It has to be the doing of a Grand Knight, but who could that be?"
Unfortunately, these locals lacked information about what transpired under the prosperity of Mystyr Kingdom, so other than the Ten Supreme Commanders, they have no idea of the Grand Knights outside the kingdom's territory, lest the ones hiding in the dark.
Of course, all of these had nothing to do with Fredrinn. He just wanted to snatch all the goods and spend them to improve the livelihood of his people, although it seemed like he lacked a lot of hands to take it all.
Perhaps he was a bit too hasty to attack this place; who couldn't blame him? These bastards killed his people for such a petty reason, and he could directly destroy them with his current power.
He sighed inwardly. Power indeed brings about destruction if one cannot control their pride and greed! He still has a lot to learn!
Thus, after thinking for a while, he shrugged inwardly and directly stuffed all the things in the treasury into a massive bag. So what if they saw these atrocious acts? They should think about whether they could defeat him first or not.
Suddenly, he had a better plan in mind.
"I wonder if the evildoers outside would be willing to leave such a big piece of meat left unattended?"
He smirked evilly. Rather than doing such a troublesome thing, wouldn't it be better to let the tiger out of its nest to fight others while he leisurely gathered enough manpower to snatch all the goods?
Unfortunately, he's not like those cultivators in xianxia novels; he had no such thing as a space ring. So even the powerful him still needs some people to handle these menial matters.
Thus, despite discovering the abundant, tantalizing wealth and treasures, Fredrinn did not act immediately. It's not that he did not wish to suppress everything with his strength, but his reaction time was still that of a squire.
A knight could easily trespass his detection limit and run away; although it's not important to the overall situation, wouldn't it be better if he did it without any variables?
He could force the dastardly family head to comply and bring all the goods in a certain direction so as not to expose the vulnerable Village of Peace before he killed them all, but what if the main family decides to investigate and coerced everyone to comply within the nearest vicinity of the Greenwood Forest?
Not to mention mere villages, even a town could be coerced easily by them, and genocide would be initiated as they pleased. As a duchy, such a thing was insignificant.
Who would the kingdom choose: a town or a duchy? No need to think.
At that time, even if he exposed his strength, the true experts would realized his shortcomings and begin to target his people. So it's better not to leave even a single hint of who he was.
His people are his priorities, and he would not let even a single variable ruin it all!
Thus, he quickly left the manor and smiled evilly.
A few hours later, the town exploded with murmurs and rumors. The news caught them stunned and speechless.
The Kennel Branch Family's manor was left unattended, with not even a single squire to guard it, and the culprit left without taking anything, leaving the abundant wealth of an overlord of a territory unattended.
They knew the news, but they didn't expect the wealth to be left untouched!
Most people had their eyes turned red, but they didn't dare to act. However, it's different for those who ran rampant in the fantasy world; they had nothing to lose at all!!
So what if the main family investigates? By that time, I would be so far off from this kingdom that you couldn't even find a trace of me!
The wealth of a mere branch family may not be much, but that was considered from the perspective of the whole force! Individually, that amount of wealth could make them so rich that they don't have to worry about money for the rest of their lives!
Thus, by the time it was night, manic, savage figures infiltrated the manor with a greedy look on their face. The terrified family head, who was hiding in his secret vault the whole time to escape the pursuit of that mysterious expert, was furious!
That expert could make me terrified because a swing of his sword could kill all of his knights, but this bunch of ruffians dare to cause havoc?!
He may lost most of his force, but that doesn't mean he has none at all!
He, the family head, was also a knight himself!
Thus, when the unscrupulous ruffians entered the manor, they were greeted by the sight of the family head, along with what was left after the massacre.
They are a couple of knights and dozens of squires.
The ruffians didn't show any surprise. As the people whose lives always hanging on a thread, rumors were the last thing they'd heed. Still, the wealth of a town was too tempting, and was worth dying for!
The family head was a middle-aged man with white hair, which was proof of his lineage as a Kennel. His eyes are determined as he charges ahead with fury!
"Attack these unbridled people!"
His men shouted back in fervor. The ruffians didn't lose out on their momentum, as their eyes showed a tint of insanity and craze.
Meanwhile, as they fought, Fredrinn had already arrived with a carriage that he 'bought' from the locals. He leisurely entered a secret entrance that he made by himself (by destroying it) and made a beeline towards the treasury.
Hearing the commotion right amid the manor, he smiled in satisfaction. He didn't forget to visit every room, and what a surprise, a secret vault was found in a peculiar room! He also found a beautiful woman and a little boy.
"P-Please! Don't kill the kid. I'll do anything!"
The mother begged, and the boy cried, but he was not the benevolent Fredrinn, but a ruthless persona whose existence was for the sole purpose of killing those he deemed as enemies!
As he promised, he will raze everything they had and love as interests!
Of course, he didn't show them hell, giving them a swift death instead. He's a monster, not a sadist.
He didn't even bother to hide their corpses. Let that unreasonable person feel the unreasonableness and the unfairness of this world!
After ransacking the vault, which shockingly held thousands of gold coins and dozens of Purification Potions, Fredrinn quickly brought them all to the carriage that was veiled by the night.
No one saw his actions, as the main attractor was the fight in the middle of this manor. And like how medieval people act, the citizens in this town also sleep at this hour.
The road was clear, and Fredrinn brought all of his loot to the carriage. He cast an evil look toward the manor and couldn't help but sneer,
"I'll give you some time. I hope you can cleanse all the sins you've done in your life before I personally sent you to hell. Who knows, perhaps they might forgive you and let you into heaven; though I doubt it."
With his grudges avenged, Fredrinn leisurely whipped the horses and silently left the scene, gradually disappearing into the distance, veiled by the shades and logs of trees. He was very satisfied with the loot, but he couldn't be excited, for this venture was to avenge his people.
After the battle, the territory was shaken once again by the aftermath. Despite winning against the ruffians with the sacrifices of a knight and a few squires, the family head's roar shook the heavens when they found the dead bodies of his wife and son, along with the disappearance of the wealth of the family head.
Even his personal belongings and savings in his vault were ransacked cleanly. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that he was robbed of everything he had!
The wealth he had left was the clothes on his body. After all, the manor, the people, including the squires and the knights, and the territory were entrusted to him by the main family.
Except for mobilizing them for the family's interests or several exceptional cases, if even one of them was lost, it was considered as a debt!
He had nothing left, and he even had to pay the debt worth the price of nurturing dozens of knights and hundreds of squires!
Since then, the family head has gone insane!
He ran around the territory crazily while screaming incoherent words, scaring people and animals alike. The most fearsome fact was the unknown culprit! No one even knows who instigated all of this!
A few days later, the family head was found hanging on the gate of his own manor, with his heart and lungs exposed for the eyes to see and his intestines eerily hanging down from his stomach as they swayed in the air.
It wouldn't take a genius to know that the family head had offended someone he shouldn't!
