The doctors and nurses didn't rush to the rescue. Faced with the two most dangerous patients in Qingshan Psychiatric Hospital, even with their professional training, they felt their skills were useless when dealing with these two.
Li Ang looked at his colleagues, on the verge of tears. They always said they'd stick together. Now that something like this had happened to him, they just stood at the doorway watching, without any action. It was too heartless.
"Did you contact the director?"
"Yes, we did."
"Only the director can handle this personally. It's a bit beyond our capabilities."
The director walked towards the ward while making a call. Before he could even speak, the ambulance service seemed to already know what was happening. They simply said, "Understood," and hung up. He didn't even get the satisfaction of fully explaining the situation. It was truly disappointing.
Inside the ward:
"The director is here!" A nurse exclaimed excitedly upon seeing the director's figure. Although it was an ordinary figure, in their eyes, it radiated a majestic brilliance.
"Director, look at this situation," the nurse said.
Director Hao raised his hand, signaling them to be quiet. I already know. Leave this matter to me. With my professional skills, resolving this won't be too difficult.
Seeing the scene, Director Hao wondered what had happened last night. What did Li Ang do to the two patients, or what did the two patients do to Li Ang?
"Can you two sit over here?" Director Hao spoke to them with respect, his tone as gentle as possible, as if they were friends.
"Okay," Lin Fan replied.
"Me too," Old Zhang nodded.
They obediently sat on another bed, quietly watching Director Hao. Faced with their smiles and gazes, Director Hao smiled cautiously back. Your smiles are chilling.
He then signaled the nurses to quickly carry Li Ang out.
Li Ang's legs were immobile. Seeing Director Hao risking himself to save him, his eyes welled up with tears.
Once Li Ang was carried out of the ward, Director Hao breathed a sigh of relief. It wasn't just the ordinary nurses; even he felt pressured entering that ward. Just look at his head of white hair – it showed how much hardship he endured, bearing unimaginable pressure.
"Rest well, you two." Director Hao smiled from the doorway, then closed the door, as if sealing away darkness.
The doctors and nurses applauded, cheering for the director's bravery. He accepted their praise, but as the director, he had to be humble, waving his hand and telling them it was nothing, that it wasn't a difficult task.
"Director, thank you so much." Li Ang, with tears in his eyes, grasped the director's hand, too moved to speak. When no one else dared to move, only the director bravely walked in to face those two patients. He was truly touched.
Director Hao patted Li Ang's shoulder and said meaningfully, "I don't get involved in matters beyond worldly concerns, but be careful next time."
Li Ang stared at the director in astonishment. Something seemed wrong with that statement.
"Director, I didn't…" Li Ang started to say.
Beep! Beep! Beep! The familiar sound arrived, followed by the familiar sight of paramedics pushing a stretcher.
Director Hao smiled at Li Ang, the meaning clear: Whether you did or not, just keep it to yourself.
Li Ang noticed his colleagues whispering and pointing at him. He knew there must be a misunderstanding.
He wanted to explain, opening his mouth to speak, but ultimately shook his head with a wry smile. It probably wouldn't work. He desperately wanted to open his WeChat Moments and show everyone his contacts. I have so many goddesses waiting for me, why would I need to do something like that?
But he knew not to reveal his wealth. His goddesses shouldn't be known to others. Otherwise, they would covet them, increasing the competition, which wasn't worth it.
In the end, he was taken away by the doctors.
Inside Ward 666:
Lin Fan and Old Zhang leaned against the window, watching the scenery outside. A gentle breeze blew, bringing comfort. They sipped their soy milk, gazing into the distance.
"We seem to be constantly failing," Lin Fan said.
"It seems so," Old Zhang agreed.
"We clearly want to help others, but we keep causing misunderstandings," Lin Fan said.
"We don't discriminate against anyone. Although they have problems here, I know we've always wanted to be friends with them," Old Zhang said.
As they spoke, they looked at each other, a hint of helplessness in their eyes. Communication was truly difficult.
"Look at my watch," Old Zhang said, rolling up his sleeve and extending his arm towards Lin Fan.
"What a beautiful watch," Lin Fan said.
"I think so too. I said I'd buy you one, and I'm saving up. I'll definitely get you one," Old Zhang said firmly.
They admired the Rolex, the aristocratic aura subtly emanating from it. It was a symbol of nobility, a noble light that would dazzle ordinary eyes.
At the hospital:
Li Ang's treatment hadn't shown immediate results, but the doctor assured him, "Your legs are fine, it's just temporary paralysis. We treated a similar case recently, so we have experience. Don't worry."
In the ward:
Chen Xiang lay in bed, his eyes dull. It wasn't that he was near death, but that he still couldn't understand how things had turned out this way.
Li Ang arrived, and their eyes met.
"Why are you here?" Chen Xiang asked.
Li Ang didn't want to talk to him. He spoke too offensively.
Chen Xiang said, "As I said before, I'm a straightforward person. I might have offended you. I realized you seemed to have something to tell me, probably about those two patients, right?"
Li Ang glanced at him. So you knew. Too bad, it's too late for regrets.
"But honestly, I'm really grateful you didn't warn me. His knife precisely removed my appendix. Even the doctor said it was a skill honed over decades. And my appendix was inflamed, so it was good to have it removed." Chen Xiang smiled at Li Ang.
Li Ang listened to Chen Xiang, completely confused. What is he talking about? I don't understand. Whatever, I don't want to talk to him anyway. I'll pretend I didn't hear anything.
Chen Xiang took out his phone. "I couldn't sleep last night. I was chatting with a goddess. She sent me a message, and I don't know how to reply. Maybe you can help me take a look?"
The whole thing was nonsense, but when Li Ang heard the word "goddess," his eyes lit up.
"Sure," Li Ang replied.
