Fallacy of a Madman

Rufus entered the room with a look of anticipation as if he were expecting Leon to speak first.

"Before you say anything, there was a break in, but it was not an assassin." Leon clarifies.

Rufus remains quiet.

"The guy might be a burglar. He doesn't seem to also be carrying around anything else except this." He then handed over the tacky knife to Rufus who looked at it in disbelief.

"What kind of dagger is this exactly?"

"I know right?!" Leon says with bright, happy eyes.

"But who's this guy then?"

"No clue but he's been mumbling nonsense since he woke up. Watch!"

Amy cannot see as well because the boys are blocking the jar, but she can hear him and what she heard next was quite shocking.

"Aron! How could you be here? Have I gone too far? How could this be? I can't! I won't! I failed!!" he wailed. "I'll kill you! While you are still young and vulnerable!"

She had to admit that she felt bad for him for the moment. He sounds so desperate but also delirious. Amy is more aware of what he's going through. Temporal Disease as the Scientist, who created the formula in the first place, called it. Anyone who has travelled back in time would always come back insane and disoriented.

Rufus, mildly concerned, seem to be under the impression that the man is mad.

"Who the hell is Aron?"

Leon shrugged in response. "I don't know. But ever since he woke up, he's been calling me the scion prince Hector and that I'll pay for everything I have done." He then poorly held in his laughter before it burst, "That's impossible, you old senile fart. There is no prince in any country alive with that name though you got one thing right, I am a prince".

Alabaster continues to cry out in both agony and protest, not listening to the conversation that is taking place before him.

Rufus seemed to show a slightly pained expression to this.

Now it seems to believe he is in Aron's past and that Rufus is Aron himself. Though curiously, heavily resembling his father, it wouldn't surprise her if Alabaster mistaken him as his son.

As for Hector, he is Leon and Melissa's youngest child and only son. However, in the original story, he is only eight years old. Just what did Prince Hector do to make Alabaster so pissed at him?

She stops to think that it's a stupid question. He is Leon's son. He wasn't shown as much in the manga for anyone to get a clear picture of him, but he might be exactly like his father.

Amy then bit her lip. While Temporal Disease is considered incurable, he will be back to his senses for a short period of time before returning back to his mad state a few more times before the madness becomes permanent. She needs him alive but only if his sanity is still intact.

Technically, Amy dodged a bullet because She didn't go too far back in time to have Temporal Disease.

Alabaster then shouts, "Where is my device? I must find the powers, the Source, the maker!"

As expected, he is looking for her.

Leon shook the jar before opening it to give him food.

"What do you plan on doing with him?"

Before Leon could answer, Alabaster shouts, "I must find the Labyrinth! The Source of Power to set things right again! The Stone Doors! The trapdoor! The Labyrinth!!"

The boys had a look of epiphany.

"Oh, damn!! Both yelled in excitement after a moment of pause and absorb this information.

As they are now discussing this. Amy cannot help but look in horror.

Oh, damn, Amy thought in realization.

That explains it. Instead of Alabaster giving information of the Labyrinth out of malicious intent to have them killed like she initially believed, he did it while he is completely insane.

While the boys plan and head off to immediate danger, she will have to hide from the wooden birds she set up to spy on them and wait to get the jar. She knows what is going to happen now that she's in the past.

Around this time, she is refining fairy blood and having Viola, Nate and Theseus help her transcribe the scriptures, so she is not concerned with her past self, Viola and Nate seeing her either.

There is one thing she is curious about now but that is a question for another day.

She had to sit down and painfully watch for hours as they began eagerly planning to enter the labyrinth, blissfully unaware of the dangers lurking inside and tempted of the idea of adventure, glory and treasure. They stop to see Alabaster no longer screaming his head out but sat back as he took in his surroundings like he is seeing all of this for the first time, panic-stricken, finally speaking normally.

"Who are you? Where am I? What am I doing here?" He speaks.

The boys stop and notice Alabaster, sane and civilized.

He froze and stopped to look at his captors. After observing them, he sat back down in defeat, "No," he said in a sad tone. "I failed." He says miserably.

"You finally calmed down old man." Leon said.

Alabaster watched with bated interest and anger as observed them quietly.

"Hector," he sneered,

Leon groaned.

"For the love of Solin, Shut up!"

His sanity only lasted for less than twenty minutes before he rambled with insanity again.

Thank God, they didn't start interrogating him.

She knows what's going to happen and that they're going to be saved after tonight but that doesn't mean she feels anything. As tempting it is, she cannot take unnecessary action and cause massive, possibly irreversible damage.

Finally, she waited enough as the boys head off to the stone building. After evading the traps, they got inside. Honestly, she is both impressed and horrified because of what she might have to suffer through later by their hands. It would also explain why her entrance to the Labyrinth trapdoor was surprisingly easy.

She kept her eye on them long enough to see that they safely, unironically, made it inside the labyrinth.

After assuring their fixed location, she looked at the time, realizing she has around a hour before Melissa begins looking.

She heads inside the Sun Team mansion, still in disguise, to Leon's room. His room is now jinxed to prevent uninvited guests from coming. Lucky for her, she was the one who set it up in the beginning.

After finally getting inside without using magic, she found the jar. Alabaster's screams were muffled by the soundproof enchantment that was placed on his prison.

His condition was deplorable. Other than his physical condition, it seems that he lacks any self-control as he defecates himself and even plays with his own feces.

Feeling pity and disgust, she purifies the jar so that he would be clean.

She then weakened the jar's durability with a charm and headed somewhere to hide but not before taking a bunch of things from her room. After she was hospitalized in the school infirmary, she had zero access to her room for a month. Leon and Rufus entered her room to steal the rest of her potion stock and books. She will have to be extremely careful from now on. This is where things will get tricky.
