THE PLOT
Xiao Jun walked steadily toward Qianru, he neither looked arrogant nor he looked angry, but the prince made sure everyone present put their attention on him and that was exactly they did.
His figured was well built due to his years training in martial arts with skin one tone darker than Mo Qin Yi and calm demeanor, Xiao Jun looked more mature than him.
He fixed his eyes on his wife that made the woman fluttered.
Qianru stepped aside and walked graciously to approaching her husband. "Jun…" She said in soft voice.
"Why are you here? Was there no one escort you to our quarter?" Xiao Jun put his hand around her slim waist, the gesture that he always did in front of other people.
In spite of his aloofness and lack of affection when it was only the two of them for these past two years, in front of other people, Xiao Jun would treat her as if she was a treasure. Sometime this reality hurt her so much, to be reminded it was only an act.
But, he was warming up with her recently…
"It seems the eunuch led us to the wrong courtyard." Qianru answered while looking at Mo Qin Yi's expression that had turned ashen.
"What do you mean with that?" Xiao Jun asked her, but somehow already knew the answer.
"It was only misunderstanding." Mo Qin Yi interjected. "I have punished the stupid eunuch, don't worry I will escort you by myself." He walked to approach the spouse.
"There is no need to bother the crown prince." Xiao Jun looked at Mo Qin Yi impassively.
Upon hearing Xiao Jun addressed him in such manner, Mo Qin Yi lifted his chin arrogantly. "If you are insisting, I will ask my retinue to escort the two of you to another courtyard."
"Like I said, there is no need for that." Xiao Jun's expression didn't change when he added. "Because we will not stay in the palace."
With that being said, Xiao Jun nodded at Mo Qin Yi and took his leave with Qianru in his embrace.
"What do you mean we will not stay in the palace?" Qianru whispered softly at Xiao Jun beside her, made sure no one could listen.
"I have booked an inn in the city."
"Is it alright?"
Xiao Jun didn't answer her, but he gave his wife a reassuring smile.
He knew what he would face once he arrived in the Rockstone Kingdom and also The Emperor of Azura's intention, so there was no way he came unprepared.
In short amount of time that he had, Xiao Jun had arranged everything that he needed, he have to be more careful to put his feet in this chaotic situation, moreover with Qianru beside him this time.
Mo Qin Yi was stunned by Xiao Jun's word to stay out of the palace. If words were out about this, people would think that The Kingdom of Rockstone had treated the representative from Azura poorly.
His Emperor father had warned him to not take an extreme measure when he faced Xiao Jun, even though no one happy about his visit and his role as the representative for the continent of the physician, but they couldn't afford to aggravate him.
It would give Xiao Zi green card to weight a war against their Kingdom.
As for now, Azura has the strongest military power out of the three Kingdoms and the story of Xinghe's downfall was still on some people lips.
Their collaboration in the continent of physician wouldn't hold Xiao Zi back from attacking Rockstone if he has a reason to do so, the alliance of Mountain Sui Sword Sect between Azura and Xinghe was an example.
Xiao Jun's existence in the Rockstone was like handed a fireball onto Mo Qian Yuan's hand. The Emperor didn't like him, but he could do nothing except to protect him, lest something bad happened and the Kingdom of Rockstone couldn't afford the price.
Xiao Zi had played his every move nicely.
