her leg up and down, Eleanora glanced over at her side to look at an aggravated Alex. All of the residents on call were sitting in the hallway outside of a conference room, the air thick with anxiety and tension.

"Someone's getting fired." Reed spoke, causing Eleanora to look over. She furrowed her brows but stayed silent, watching as her friend, April, hissed at her.

"Stop it."

"She wasn't even my patient." This time, it was the largest Mercy West Resident. He was a tall, buff guy named Charles. The bandage on his head had some signs of blood, but his tone was what caught everyone's attention.

"What?" Cristina snapped, glaring at him. Eleanora sighed, shaking her head.

"Everyone should just calm down." She said softly, looking over to check on Mark. He looked annoyed, probably tired of having to stand and wait on the Chief.

Alex finally spoke, his own leg bouncing up and down. Except his was in obvious annoyance and anger whereas Eleanora's was in anxiety. "How long is this gonna take?"

Jackson smirked, raising a brow as he looked at Alex. "Why, you need to make a phone call?"

Charles snorts, and Eleanora feels Alex tense up. Her eyes widen a bit, sitting up a bit straighter. "Alex-"

Alex launches himself across the hall, grabbing onto Jackson's scrub top and throwing him against the wall. Everyone else erupts, Eleanora shooting up to try and pull Alex off of Jackson. The Attending's run over, putting themselves between the two fighting men. Everyone else is yelling, Eleanora helping Derek keep Alex away from Jackson with wide eyes.

The Chief storms out of the conference room, anger falling on his face as he watches his employees act like children. "That's enough!"

When nobody listens, he raises his voice even more, making Eleanora wince a bit. "I said enough!"

Derek practically shoves Alex in a chair, Eleanora moving to stand between them, her chest rising and falling a bit faster. She puts her hands on her hips, glancing over her shoulder to see Mark harshly shoving Jackson just like Derek.

Once everyone was calmer, the Chief continued, his narrowed eyes moving to each resident and attending. "What happened here tonight, what happened to that patient, was inexcusable! And we're gonna be here 'till I find out who's responsible for it. So until then, you will sit down, you will shut up and you'll wait to be called."

Everyone, besides the Attending's, move to sit down. Eleanora sits beside Alex again, but looks up when Mark moved to stand beside her with his arms crossed. He looks down at her, eyes curious. She just shrugs, indicating she didn't know what happened with Alex and why he did that, before turning to face her friend again and squeeze his arm reassuringly.

"Hunt." The Chief called, content with everyone looking slightly fearful and staying silent. Webber goes back to the conference room, Hunt following after him.

Eleanora sighs, leaning back in her seat and closing her eyes.

Tonight was a horror show.

______

were you? During the entire event." The Chief asked her.

Eleanora shifted a bit in her seat, nervously looking between Mr. Jennings and the lawyer. She cleared her throat before speaking, focusing on the Chief.

"I was helping Dr. Shepherd with one of the hotel staff, and then when we were done I went and helped him with one of the firefighters." Eleanora told them, nodding her head.

Jennings flipped through his notebook, speaking up for a moment. "The same firefighter as Dr. Hunt, Torres, Yang, and Adamson?"

"Yes, sir." Eleanora confirmed.

"Why were there so many Doctors on one patient?" He asked, looking back at her. "Seems like a waste of resources with such a packed ER."

"I-I didn't stay long with the firefighter. D-Dr. Shepherd couldn't do anything to the patient until he got his head CTs, so we continued on and checked over other patients until they got back."

"So you didn't touch the patient?" Webber asked, to which Eleanora shook her head.

"Once, for just a moment. I also watched over her son. After...."

"After what, Dr. Amedeo?"

"After Dr. Yang made him cry."
