Chapter 3: The System of the Whole (Part 2)

[Very well, host, first of all, you should log into the system, as you already signed in, you only need to open it] Liscia said [Open the desktop of your ANSWR System and go to the most recently downloaded program]

The boy did as ordered and soon enough, he found what he was looking for, he found an icon of the silhouette of a wolf howling with a circle behind it, the name of the app was 'System of the Whole'.

He fixated his point of view on this icon and the app opened, letting him see a menu of what seemed to be a videogame.

it was divided in six sub-menus [Notifications][Chat][Missions][Store][Gacha][Status].

[Verry well, let us start with the explanation, first of all, the notifications] Liscia said excitedly [Here you will receive all the notifications given by the system, namely, messages from the chat, missions the system has given to you, or when you receive rewards for your feats or on important days such as your birthday or Christmas]

"Okay, I think I understand how this works," Levisay thought with a mental nod.

[Great, now moving to the next part, managing the whole multiverse is a difficult task for only one person, so there is a way you can take allies from the many worlds you will visit and they will become your allies. Through the system chat, you can share anything, from chats and videos and the usual stuff to even items or skills for your allies to make use of] Liscia said.

"You are telling me I can exchange anything from this world to people from other realities and they can do the same with this chat?" Levisay said incredulous.

[Yes, pretty much that is how the chat works, people who have access to the system will also enjoy everything it has to offer, but they will also be subjected to the missions for them to keep enjoying all of its privileges]

"What are these missions you talk so much about?"

[Well, the missions are given by the system whenever it deems it to be necessary, they are given at random moments, and their nature varies from complexity, difficulty, and anything you should take into consideration to complete them] She said [First, the missions will arrive to the [Notifications], once you accept or decline them, they will go to your [Missions] sub-menu, and if accepted, once you finish them, you will receive a reward according to the difficulty of the mission and the time it has taken to you to complete it]

"Is there any penalty if I decline a mission?"

[None at all, the system values the free will of the Host and every other being with reasoning and cognitive skills, forcing you to make a mission would be hypocritical from the system, so you are always free to decline a mission if you don't want to do it] Liscia explained [Your mission menu is divided on five sub-menus, the ones you are currently doing, the ones you plan to do, the ones you have put on hold, the ones you completed and the ones you completely descarted]

"Care to elaborate?"

[Sure, there is the possibility for you to be doing different missions simultaneously, so these enter in the currently doing menu; if there are missions that piqued your interest but you feel you don't have the power to complete them, you can put them in the planning to do; then there are the missions that you have put on hold if you have accepted to do a mission but realize while doing it that you don't have the strength necessary to complete it, you can put it on hold, your progress will be saved and you will be able to resume it whenever you want; next is the completed missions, as the name suggests, in this place will appear all missions you have completed, along with your statistics from each mission, finally; there is the subject of the dropped missions, these are missions you were doing or didn't even bother to do, that you decided you didn't want to complete, once you send a mission here, you will never be able to do go back and do it again]

"Quite a convenient system..." Levisay thought while nodding inwardly.

[Thanks for the compliment, anyways, there is also what is known as secondary missions, these missions are given to the Host during a major mission and are only available during the duration of the major mission] Liscia explained to Levisay [There is also something you should take into consideration from the major missions; as I said earlier, this system allows you to interact with all of the reality, so you will end up more than once, doing missions in alternative worlds. While you are in those worlds doing your missions, time here will stop until you come back]

"Oh, that's neat, if a mission takes longer than expected, then this way I won't worry my family if I end up disappearing all of a sudden," Levisay said with a nod "Is there more to the system?"

[Yes, next we have the store section, here you will be able to buy anything existing in any reality, and by anything, I really mean ANYTHING, but please take in consideration that buying people here won't make them your property, a more accurate way to put it would be that you will invoke them to this world, either they decide to follow you or make their own lives here is up to them]

"I see the system takes too seriously the free will of the people"

[Your free will is your right by birth, you have the right to choose for yourself the path you want to make in your life, nothing and no one should ever attempt to do otherwise] For some reason, Liscia said the following with hatred in her voice [There are some idiots out there that attempt to make some sort of mind control, but their control over that power is coarse and easy to evade even for the most airhead people out there]

"Anyways, I think we are moving further from the main topic," Levisay said.

[Ah, yes, as I was telling you, anything and everything is available in the store for you to buy, as long as you have the right amount of money] Liscia said [The money used in the store is known as SPC, the acronym for Soul Point Credits, they are given to you on a daily basis, with the amount based on your level, and also after completing missions]

"I have a lot of money, but I guess it won't work here..."

Levisay forms part of the richest family in the world, The Stallards. There is no exact number on their total assets but between their cash assets, real estate, stock market, and their own industrial conglomerate, it is esteemed that from all of the World's Gross Domestic Product, they get about a tenth of it.

He has enough money to buy Europe if he wants to, and still has a few trillion dollars to spare, still, he didn't know if that money could work here. 

[On the contrary, Host, there is a function from the store that makes it possible for you to convert any currency that exists into the SPC. As the currency of the country you are living in right now is the Euro, then one Euro will be equal to one SPC] Liscia said [This applies to any currency you make in other worlds you visit, once that money is converted to Euros according to the current exchange rate, they will be able to be changed to SPCs]

[The store is divided into different sections for the items divided in ranks, its order being: [Common], [Uncommon], [Rare] [Super Rare], and [Ultra Rare] which is the highest ranking for anything available in the [Store]. Also, you might keep in mind that the higher the rank of the item you want to buy, the higher its price will be]

"I suppose that's only logical, so moving on, what can you tell me about the Gacha, I am oblivious to that thing, as much as it pains me to say"

[Don't worry Host, my job here is to help you make things easy and simple for you to understand. So, let's go with the Gacha, this is a function that works pretty much like a lottery where you can gain many rewards, anything from the store can be obtained in the gacha, though here it will be based only on your luck factor] Liscia explained [The gacha uses what is known as gacha tickets, which can be bought in the store for one thousand SPCs each, the packet of ten is worth nine thousand, or you can gain them through rewards. Now, the gacha has two major functions, the individual draw and the x10 draw. If you pull a x10 draw, you will get an additional random item drop, along with a guaranteed [Super Rare] drop, and a one percent chance of obtaining a random [Ultra Rare] object]

"So a probability of one in every one hundred" Levisay said in deep thought "What if for some reason, I don't get any [Ultra Rare] object in a hundred draws?"

[In case that happens, the system will select five random [Ultra Rare] items from the store and will let you choose one of them]

"Wow, that is pretty cool, so anyways I have a guaranteed [Ultra Rare] object every one hundred draws, but what happens if I have a duplicated item?"

[Well, in that case, you have two options, to change it for its value from the store, either in SPCs or in any other currency you want; or the other option would be to keep it and give it to anyone you might want to give it to]

"Can I really do that?"

[Of course, you can, you can also give other people access to the System, so for what reason would you not be able to give items to other people too?] Liscia said with a small giggle [This function's main objective is to test the allegiance of the people you might meet in other worlds before you add them to the system]

"This thing is really something else, even describing it as 'really impressive' would be an understatement"
