Ivy was exhausted from her makeup work but had made steady progress by the last day of school before the break. She was confident she would be able to take her finals when she got back.

Carson didn't have any work to do in the library that day but he patiently explained some statistics concepts he had outlined in his notes. He was a saint. Having him help her through the past week and a half had been lifesaving.

Ivy was so grateful that she did something out of character. She looked up phone cases with characters from that anime he recommended to her and bought one to give to him as a Christmas present.

She had never bought anyone other than Ethan and her parents a gift before. Lydia was too broke to buy her anything from her constant shopping sprees so they never bothered to exchange presents in all their years of friendship.
