A Shield

Everyone's schedules didn't match up until about two weeks later on a Sunday. Adrian wasn't dumb enough to go to a total stranger's house so they agreed to meet up in a public park. The weather was still pretty nice for early November too.

May's brother was practically identical to her, down to the last freckle. The only real differences were hair length and the fact that he had a more masculine build.

He gave Adrian an eager once-over. "Hey there! So you're the Enhancer May has been going on about. Nice to meet you! My name is Matthew and I'm a Lie Detector. I always know whether or not I'm being lied to."

His enthusiasm was more than a little off-putting, especially since he had to be over thirty to be a neurologist. He certainly didn't look it. He seemed to be in his early to mid-twenties at a glance.

Knowing Matthew was deceptively youthful, Adrian suddenly wondered how old May was. It would be rude to ask though.
