Chapter 2

Is it a good news?

Ethan was thinking about the next distribution of the food supply which the survivors will bring back today. As the days goes on , the smaller the foods supplies they are getting and the dangers are getting more dangerous outside the bunker . Last week the group almost chased by several hundred of zombies which made them cautious and fearful of the critical situation .

Today he sent five people to get the food supply from the city with the help of Tunnels it would be not much difficult to get some foods but a survivor reported that they saw a group of zombies gathered at one of the tunnel which made him worried.

"What If some zombies are camping at the other side of the tunnel ?"

This was absurd idea but he didn't want to have any uncertainty about the potential danger so he was feeling uneasy .

"I hope they are fine...."

As he was hoping that there would be no harm against hai team he was suddenly distracted by the knocking sound from the 'door'.

He frowned and said with a slightly ease tone

"Come in . What's the matter?"

The 'door' opened and a short teen girl who had ponytail hair came in with a excited face .

This girl name was Clara who was a software trainee worker who joined their survivor group by three months before. Due to her high knowledge in computer and codings , she was assigned for equal supply maintenance . She had a boyfriend Denmis who joined with her in this group but pity they had strained relationship now .

Clara said with a flushed face from excitement

"Boss our people is back ....a-and ....."

Looking at her difficulty in talking , he said with helpless tone

"Relax Clara . No one is going to stop you from speaking here . Calm down then talk "

Clara stopped for a moment and took a deep breath to calm down . After some second she was back to normal but still she had excited face

"Boss there is two good news for us "

Ethan had starnge uneasy feeling hearing this. Before he could ask her , she said before him in fast phase .

"One is that we got a lot of supplies today which is totally more than the amount of one week's worth ..."

Hearing this Ethan finally felt some relief . He then hurriedly asked her about the other news

"That's great. Then what's the next news ? Is it something important ?"

Clara smilingly said

"Boss this news is too much important because one of the survivor has awakened a ability!"

Ethan mood sank to the bottom hearing her words. This news is not that good for him since the survivors will always stay with strong people and if one of the survivor awakened they will automatically obey his orders and worship him . As for he, the leader of the bunker will be kicked out or worst getting killed and fed to zombies .

Either way that's only lead to his death ! That's for sure . So he started to get anxious and his face become grave serious.

'what should I do now?'

Getting no response from her boss made Clara confused . So she said with hesitation

"Boss is everything alright?"

Waking up from his deep thought , he said with a forced smile

"Yes it's all right. You can go now and don't forget to distribute the food equally ok?"

Clara nodded her head and left before saying to him in serious tone

"Yes Boss. You can leave that task to me."

When she finally left did his smile disappeared and was replaced with tension of his future . Even through the situation was looking carefree now , he would bet that there is lot of scheme going on to take him down as the leader of the bunker .

Have you ever saw a ability user working for non ability user ?

And worst of all he didn't have nor skills in leadership and talent which made him totally noob in this post apocalyptic era.

"Damm .....why didn't I awaken my ability like others?"

He prayed that his luck would once again help him but that was just a false hope which will be too much dissapointment if he truly hoped like that .

Ethan started to walk around in circles while thinking solutions and not a single one helped him solve his problem which made his face ashen .

When he was wondering about what to do next suddenly a knock came from the 'door' which made his heart beat quickly .

If it was before bhe didn't have any relation about it but now he felt that someone was gripping his heart tightly.

He took a deep breath continuously to calm down and tried best not to show his panic to others .

"Come in"

The door opened and a middle aged man entered inside while carrying a container in his hands. Seeing the middle aged man , Ethan heart beat finally slowed down and he said with a smile .

"Gary . Today it's your day to deliver the food ?"

This person name was Gary , a sports teacher in the university which was just three streets away From their location. This person was honest and bold which was quite trustworthy person so he is likable by every survivors in this bunker.

Gary showed a wide smile and said

"Boss today is Lucky day for us. We found a meat shop and that's fresh one too ! Enjoy your meal boss " .

Ethan didn't touch the container instead he asked him with slightly indifferent tone

"Where is Mei ? She should be the one who is going to distribute the food today according to the schedule "

Mei was another survivor who joined their group and she introduced herself saying that she worked as a officer which made many people guard up against her .

Mei was a police officer before the apocalypse !

Even Ethan had alarmed that day when a police officer joined their survivor group .

But luckily she was just cold and didn't have any reaction to others . She was just a lone wolf type so many survivors stopped paying attention on her as the time passed .
