Chapter 6

When Gaol shift ended, he immediately gave Jude a call.

"Finally, I thought you had forgotten that you threw a case at me and just want to leave your life leisurely." was Jude's opening line.

"Don't you know how to give your salutations during a phone call?"

'I've been calling you all morning okay. If I am a fish waiting to be watered by you then I would be dead right now." Alfred, who was driving the car and listening to their entire conversation, can't help but to laugh at his partner's chosen words.

"You know you sound like a wife who was asking to be watered by her husband right now."

Jude who understood his meaning, was so mad and embarrassed at the same time, which made his face turn red.

Gaol heard there's someone in the background

"Who is that?"

"My partner."

"Okay, let's meet at your station. I have something to share with you."

While driving to the station, Gaol was thinking of that familiar voice. 'Why do I feel that all the people I've met this week are quite familiar? I hope this is not a bad omen.' he thought as he remembered the past that he has been running away from for the past 5 years.

Alfred on the other hand was also thinking the same thing. But has always a wait and see attitude.

When Gaol arrived at the station he called Jude to tell him that he arrived.

"I'm going to ask someone to bring you upstairs."

Hence an intern was seen running down the stairs.

"Are you Doctor Gaol?" Gaol nodded "Please follow me" as they were entering the station Gaol suddenly stopped which puzzled the intern.

Gaol felt that the shadows who were faint most of the time suddenly grew darker, turning into shackles.

"Doctor Gaol?" The intern kept calling him but he didn't get an answer.

"I'm sorry, it's just that I was so tired running around the emergency room which made me dizzy for a moment." Gaol smiled apologetically.

When they reached the room Gaol was dazed as he saw the person that he least expected to see. Alfred was also feeling the same thing. The two held a staring contest for a while Jude on the other hand ruined the atmosphere by asking "Are you to exes?"

Gaol threw the examination results at him angrily then looked at Alfred.

"Long time no see?"

"Yeah, long time no see." Alfred said while clicking his tongue. He didn't know how to describe this whirlwind of emotion. But it soon came into realization.

He turned to Gaol then shouted and pointed at him.

"This muscle bear idiot said you are the head of the emergency department in the hospital. Are you crazy!!!!! You are a fucking forensic doctor!! What are you doing in the emergency department!!"

Gaol was startled at his sudden outburst.

Then raised his hands to stop the impending fist of Alfred.

"What's wrong with me being a doctor in the emergency department?" Gaol shouted at Alfred as he was evading his fist.

"You are dissecting dead bodies for who knows how many years, don't you think it's weird to know that you are suddenly a doctor saving lives."

"I passed the degree that's needed for that. It wasn't my fault if you are stupid."

Jude who was shocked by the scene can"t but to asked "just be honest with me, you to we're ex boyfriend right? Then the other left without saying anything?"

" No!!" Both shouted at the same time then

"You both say no, but your actions say otherwise." Jude shakes his head "okay lovebirds let's talk about your issues some other time, we've got a case to solve.
