I CAN'T SEE HER LIKE THIS

We locked the door using the key that Br Michael left us, I think. Neither Markus nor I said a word and we went straight to bed. We both surprisingly fell asleep and I had a very pleasant dream. Olive and I were back home and in that dream we were grown ups. Might I say I was quite handsome even though I had developed a little bit of a moustache, something I don't really want but it looked good on me, just as everything else looks good on me. I bet I look hot even when I'm scared.

Quite alarmingly I was waken up by the sound of water dripping from a faucet or something close to that. I slowly opened my eyes and was startled when I saw a boy sitting in the corner, close to the door, drenched from head to toe. Markus was fast asleep so I was the only one seeing this right now.

"Excuse me." I said shakily,"I think you're in the wrong room."

I said that even though I knew that whatever was there was probably not a real human being. I waited for a response from the boy but all I got was silence. Markus ended up waking up from the sound of my voice and he asked,

"Why you talking to yourself?"

"I'm talking to that boy." I said pointing to the corner while I looked at Markus.

"What boy?" he asked when he looked at the corner.

I checked again and the boy was gone; the floor was pretty dry as well.

"Never mind." I said with a sigh.

Markus sat up on the bed and asked,

"Did you have a nightmare?"

I shook my head and managed to make myself smile as I remembered my dream.

"I actually had a very pleasant dream. Olive and I were back home, all grown up after completing our education here and we were very happy."

"That'll happen, don't worry. You just have to make sure you behave and get good grades and for your comfort, I'm sure whatever happened yesterday will not repeat again."

"I hope so. Don't give me false hope."

Markus just smiled at me and told me to get some rest. We went back to sleep and the rest of the night was peaceful. In the morning I got up ready to go and start crying in front of Sr Drevin so that she could let me see Olive but I did not find Sr Drevin walking anywhere around the main school buildings. I asked one of the other nuns and she told me Sr Drevin had spent a night at the clinic taking care of Olive but apparently Olive had gone sleep walking making the staff members look for her. Luckily she had returned safely to her room.

That's strange considering the fact that Olive never sleep walked and if she did as a child then mom and dad did a good job in keeping it hidden. On the bright side thanks to her sleep walking, classes for the day were cancelled and I could not be happier. It felt like my dream of spending a lovely time with Olive the way we used to was finally coming true. The only downside is that we are not alone and we're not at home but instead we are in a school that is keeping us like prisoners and we're going to be with freckle boy. I understand that he had also been equally worried about Olive so I can not deny him the chance to get to see her and spend some time with her as well.

Markus and I went to the girls the dormitorium and we ran into Maria there. I profusely begged her to let us see Olive but she kept on insisting that Vee had not yet returned from the clinic. But that nun had told Markus and I that Olive had made her way back to her room. I placed my hand on Maria's shoulder and got closer to her and whispered in her ear,

"I'll date you secretly if you just let me see her."

She blushed instantly and I internally rolled my eyes at her. When I pulled away from Maria I suddenly heard Marcus scream for Olive and I instantly turned to look in the direction he had started running in. She was there. She looked horrible; it was as if I could see her bones, like she had suddenly developed an exoskeleton overnight! Her face was the same except for a few dark circles around her eyes that worry me. If she went sleep walking then she did get sufficient but why did she have dark circles. I did not mention it and neither did Markus the last thing I want is her panicking because of the sudden change. She has already been through enough for the past two days what markus did next was quite surprising. He just went and hugged her!

When I noticed that Olive was looking at his biceps I told Marcus to move away from her and he looked slightly embarrassed. I put on a big boy smile and stood close to her. she placed her fingers in the dips of my dimples and I did the same. For a moment it was just the two of us. Our little moment of bliss was short lived because Elise the destroyer came in between us and I had expected her to push us apart to say it was against the rules or something but instead she came to hug me. I was too stunned to even do anything. She didn't take long and then turned to Olive and hugged her as well. While I was still in a daze Maria attempted to do the same thing but I instinctively pushed her away.

This gave out a wrong message to the others because it was obvious with the way they were looking at me that they thought I preferred shorty to Maria when in actual sense I preferred none to the other. Maria left, embarrassed and utterly ashamed, no doubt cursing me in her heart. I did not even know what to say or do so when they started asking me about why I had to pushed Maria away I diverted my attention to Markus and we started fighting. Olive came to break us apart but she came at the wrong time because we were both about to throw punches at each other and they ended up landing on her. While Markus and I were still in shock of hitting a lady, Olive passed out. Can this day get any worse?

She just got back from the clinic and now we have made her fall unconscious yet again. Markus and I carried her to her room and then stood outside in front of the door while she was inside with Elise. Roughly an hour passed by and we were lucky because most of the students have already gone outside to have fun. When Elise and Olive emerged from the door, Vee was dressed in a super bright yellow dress and if I am not mistaken it's the one with splits on either side. Markus and I decided to lie down on the ground so that Olive would forgive us and she did much, quicker than I had anticipated and even though I don't like it and large part of me tells me it's because Markus was lying down.

She even gave him a nickname, Mar. Not that I am jealous but why is she giving him a nickname so quickly? I'm sure Olive is praying as much as I am that we do not run into Sr Drevin or Br Michael or any of the staff members in general. I can remember how this dress used to hug her figure and now it is loosely hanging off of of her and I'm wondering if she has noticed. It is painful to watch her health deteriorate so quickly and the worst part is that I cannot do anything about it. I hope Dr Buffers, or whatever his name is, can help her get better soon because if she continues like this she will be looking like a corpse by the time the week is over.

Markus took us on a tour around the school, showing us the various important buildings present that we were allowed to visit then he decided to get all dangerous and take us to what is known as Scythe. According to him the lake is known for its ability to show a person the reflection of what they'll look like when they die. I don't think I'm that curious I know. I'll still be handsome. Markus' reflection showed him with wounds, deep ones at that and blood all over his face and I said it out loud. I had a look at my own reflection and I lied about what I saw. I made sure to move away from the edge of the lake so that Markus would not see my reflection. My face was still handsome yes but it had three large and deep claw marks that did not bleed and my right eye was damaged, horribly.

I do not know what Olive had seen and I will not ask her because she looks terrified. Markus was the first to leave followed by Olive. I lingered a little bit by the lake and looked at my reflection again and for a second it alternated between my usual face and the clawed one. I moved away when I heard Markus scream like a little girl and run in the direction they had disappeared into.
