Chapter 95: Lipstick Marks
Carter ran his fingers along her rose gold collar as she peered at herself in the floor length gown. It was a dark wine color and made from satin. A slit ran up the flowy skirt to her hips. The bodice was corseted and laced with black ribbon and the sleeves were off the shoulder. They draped along her upper arms in elegant swoops. He had put her hair up in a fancy updo that she had no idea how he had done, if she was honest.
He touched her chin and turned her to face him as he held a golden tube of dark red lipstick between his fingertips. "Part your pretty lips for me."
"I can put on my own lipstick, you know?" Ariana softly laughed as she stared into his forest green eyes, watching them crinkle at the outer corners when he smiled.
"I know, but I want to." Carter brushed his thumb along her chin.
