Chapter 216: Big Decisions

Ariana thought for a moment and played with the spot where her rings used to sit. "Would I?"

"Mm-hm." Karla nodded and waited with her pen ready to write something down.

"I-um..." Ariana reached up to graze her fingers along her empty neck.

"If he were to decide to collar you again? Would you say yes?" Karla thought of it the other way, same thing yet different.

"Yes," Ariana shamelessly answered her. She missed the feeling of the weight of the collar around her neck, missed the meaning behind it, and missed belonging to Carter in a way that could be shown to the outside world. "I would say yes."

"You would say yes to a collar yet not a ring. Interesting." Karla made a note about it. "How come?"

"Something about it seems less... I don't know. I don't have an answer for that." Ariana slumped in the chair and sighed. She brought her fingers up to chew on her nails as she began to worry about what that meant. "Why is it different to me?"
