Chapter 208: Solo Session Part 2

"Come in, love," Carter called for Emily to open the door.

She walked over and hugged Lucky, snuggling against her curly fur. Ariana warmly smiled at their daughter and ran her fingers through her soft hair. Emily didn't say anything.

"Are you happy now?" Emily searched between her parents with her eyes.

"Oh honey," Carter walked over to gather his daughter into his arms.

Emily let the tears fall down her cheeks, and Carter brushed them away with his thumbs. "Are you?"

Ariana walked up to rub Emily's back. "Of course, we are. We're so happy and we're trying to make us work so we can be like we were."

"But you fight still." Emily sniffed and rubbed beneath her nose.

"Sweetheart, all couples argue. They argue, talk it out, and move on. It's part of being in a relationship. But we're okay and none of this is your or Josh's fault. We're going to make this work, love." Ariana smiled up at their daughter and then flashed a glance at Carter. "We're going to make us work."
