Chapter 142: Family Emergency in Milan

Carter sat at his desk, tapping the papers with his questions on it. His sleeve rode up, showcasing the platinum 'A's of his cufflinks. He pushed down his sleeve to look at his steel watch, checking the time. His interviewee was running late by a few minutes and he groaned, wanting to get it over with. The first one had gone rough and he bet this one would be no different.

A swift knock on his door made him peer up from the questions. He cleared his throat and called her into the office.

A woman stumbled into his office and he smiled for her, adjusting his suit coat, and standing up to walk over to greet her. He held his hand out to shake hers, "Welcome, Ms. Page. My name is Carter Anderson, but you can call me Mr. Anderson."

"Hello. Nice to meet you." Ms. Page peered up at him with a gaze that was more interested in him than the position. "Sorry, I was late. Traffic, you know how it is."
