THE LETTER

"knock knock"

"come in Jane "

"you've got a letter sweetie " Jane handed a letter to Raven .

"a letter? it can't be for me , maybe it's for someone else , check it properly"

Raven said as her concentration was fully in her work . she was carving a beautiful cat patting a dog's head .

"well I dont think so ,let me read it loud " Jane cleared her throat and read aloud.

"to : Raven Patterson , from : Alice -"

Raven widened her eyes as she let the knife fall down . It can't be Alice right ? the Alice which she knew ?

Raven's breath became uneven as she panted heavily , she grabbed the letter forcefully and opened the letter furiously .

Jane left Raven alone after seeing her pathetic state , she was confused , who was that Alice ? why is Raven too nervous after getting that letter?

Raven read through the letter ,

hey Raven , I'm pretty sure you forgot about me ... it's been so long , I hope you are doing good , I just thought of writing this to you , I don't even know the reason , you don't have to reply me just be safe and healthy ....

tears welled up in Raven's eyes , how can she forget her? when she loves her endlessly? she wanted to meet her so badly but there wasn't any address attached .

A year passed too soon , Raven was in her second year , Raven and Jane were best friends . for Raven , Jane was a real charming and outgoing girl and for Jane Raven was a reserved person .

"I'm home "

Jane announced as she walked in the living room only to find raven sleeping peacefully . she went to the kitchen and found the dishes displayed on the table neatly , licking her lips she went to fresh up herself .

Jane came out with her piggy pyjamas only to find Raven scrolling her phone sitting on the dining . Raven looked up and passed a smile which jane mirrored .

Raven started digging in while Jane was just poking the food with her spoon.

"why aren't you eating?"

Raven asked as her cheeks were puffed.

Jane shook her head as she took a spoon and ate .

"bad day?"

Jane nodded .

"I think I should give up" Jane said looking down .

"what?"

"I'm not fit to be a model raven , it's been 2 freaking years and no company accepted me , I should just quit trying and continue with my designing career"

Jane was hurt , she was tired , tired of trying over and over . It could be easily noticed with the tone of her voice .

Raven didn't tell anything as she got up from her seat .

"where are you going?"

Jane asked holding her wrist .

"wait a minute"

Raven went to her room and bought an envelope.

She sat on her seat and gave the envelope to Jane .

"what's this?"Jane asked in confusion as she stared at the envelope .

"a company named " Belinda " wants to hire you for a perfume photoshoot as a model , but like you said you want to give up right so I'll decline the offer "

Raven said as Jane's eyes widened as if her sockets would fall out any time. she immediately grabbed the envelope and read through the letter as she smiled widely . she immediately hugged Raven as Raven hesitated at first but eventually hugged her back .

"I'm really so happy"

Jane whispered as her voice was muffled.

Raven smiled as she rubbed her back.

Raven was watching some random movie as Jane was doing something with her notebook .

The movie ended as Raven stretched her hands and legs and turned to Jane , she was too focused doing something in her scrapbook.

"what are you doing?"

the sudden voice made Jane jump .

"ju-just sketching a random scenery "

"hoo , I'm going to the grocery , you want something? "

"nope "

Raven got up and wore her coat and headed out , she found a pink letter which instantly bought a smile on her face , she immediately opened and read through the letter ,

dear Raven,

I'm really so happy today , my long life crush proposed me and I'm really grateful for that and we are gonna marry soon with our parent's wish , I hope you are happy too, I'm moving to California tomorrow ,and I'm really so worried that I can't send you messages hereafter , maybe you are already fed up with the tons of letters which I sent , anyways stay healthy and be happy always.
