The Scent Of Lust And Tears

Twenty-year-old Felice Bonny from Kingston knows many things. She knows how long she can hold her breath. She knows how many steps it is from her room to the garden. She knows that her stepmother doesn't have a drop of goodness in her body. She knows her father is wrapped around her stepmother's finger. She knows that she doesn't belong to the place she calls home. She also knows she's ignorant of the world beyond the walls of her home. Felice, daughter of a lord and former sailor, has lived a life in wealth. But wealth also comes with ignorance and captivity, or so does Felice think. Felice can imagen that her stepmother and halfsister see it as the opposite. Felice never expected to follow her heart. Never expected to follow her, and she deceased mother's, dreams. Never expected to see the ocean again. Smell it. Feel it. Never expected to sail over the many seas. To be free from the expectations her family had. From the upcoming forced marriage. The corsets. The dresses. Never expected actual friends. True love. Never occurred to her. In the slightest. Until she met the captain of the Black Pearl. Disclaimer!! **I do not own most of the characters in this story nor do I own the pirates of the Caribbean franchise. However, I do own some characters like Felice, her family, Prince Felipe, and other characters along with the story. I've also taken several lines from the movie to match my storyline up with the original, along with events. All credit to the creators behind this amazing series** --English is not my first language, so feel free to come with improvements:)--

"I am a woman"

"Will? What are you doing here?" He stared at me.

"What am I doing here? What are you doing here?" I scratched my neck.

"Bloody hell, William, what is taking you so lo-" the other man's voice stopped. When I saw who stood behind Will, I backed a few steps away.

"You," I said, astonished.

"You," he answered just as surprised. He looked at me. Silence. He took Wills arm and pulled him towards him. "What is she doing here?" he whispered, obvious loud while covering his mouth like it would create a barrier between me and them.

"You know I can hear you, right?" I was annoyed.

"You know I really don't care, right?" he backfired at me. I clenched my fists. Bloody pirate.

"Well well, Jack Sparrow, was it? The real question here is why you are here." I said. "I mean, on the pride of the Royal Navy? With Will." I leaned my weight onto the desk, trying to convince both him and myself i was relaxed and under control. While I tried staying cool on the outside, my insides were burning up. Sparrows head snapped up over Will's shoulder, meeting my eyes. He narrowed them.

"Captain Jack Sparrow." he corrected me like he had corrected Norrington before me. I nodded my head.

"I see. Captain over...Will, I guess? What an honour!" I said, dramatically and sarcastically, clapping my hands together.

"Hey!" Will said, offended.

"Sorry Will." I shot in. After overhearing hours with conversations between the blacksmith and the pirate, I made a 'wild' guess that he had no idea how to sail a ship.

"I, am actually, the captain over the black pearl," Sparrow said crossing his arms.

"Is that why they rescued you?" I said, dragging out the time and conversation. I made another guess that it was Will and not the Black Pearl that had broken the pirate out. Sparrow narrowed his eyes once more at me.

"Throw her overboard," he said, turning his back on us and started walking back to the deck.

"What?" both I and Will said looking at each other, then the pirate, then each other again. Sparrow was now standing on the quarterdeck behind the helm of the ship.

"What do you mean 'throw me overboard'? You can't do that!" I yelled at him, storming out of the captain's cabin, blocking the sun with my hand while looking up at him.

"Darling, I can do what I want. Savvy?"

"What's that supposed to mean? You are in no place to do that! It isn't even your ship!" I yelled at him. My cheeks were burning up. I felt my fists clenched in anger. Even my ears began heating up. My nails made marks in the palms of my hands. I noticed it had become a bad habit of mine. But even when after I noticed it, I couldn't get myself to relax.

"You have no more right to be here than me," I said. Sparrow took out his telescope and scouted along the sealine.

"Well, what am I supposed to do with you? You can't sail with us."

"Why is that?" I hissed. My blood was boiling. I could feel I was second from ripping his head off.

"You're a girl."

"Are you serious? It's a stupid superstition!"

"You can never be too careful, darling," he looked at me. It looked like he enjoyed this. Playing with me. He could see I was furious. I bit my teeth together.

"I am a woman," i corrected him. "and a damn good one too," I said confidently, placing my hands on my hips. He chuckled.

"You are to no use for me."

"And what are your mission?"

"What do you mean?"

"I highly doubt Will here, would ever be on your crew unless-" I suddenly realized. "-Unless you are looking for Elizabeth"

"Bloody hell William, did you tell her?" he sighed.

"No, I didn't. And for the records, I think she could bring a lot to the crew," he said. I looked back at him, smiling. He scratched his neck and smiled back. Elizabeth clearly recognized a diamond when she saw one.

"Well I don't care what you think," the pirate said, childlike. I rolled my eyes.

"I'm looking for Elizabeth too. I can be helpful."

"How could you possibly help me?"

"I know how to sail. If I understand right, Will struggles to sail on his own. Do you really think he is capable of sailing all the way to Tortuga by himself?"

"I really think he is more capable than you," his mumbly, slurred voice announced, waving his hands in different gestures. He almost looked crazy. Was he?

"I can sail. I can cook, and I have valuable information." I've had this hypothesis in my head for a while. After all those hours waiting, I remembered something. And i had a feeling it was worth something. Sparrows head shot up, his eyes meeting mine.

"What kind of information," he said, walking away from the helm, down the stairs towards me. I just shrugged my shoulders.

"I guess you have to buy that information." He stood on the last step of the staircase. He held his hands in a weird gesture.

"What information, girl" I smiled.

"I'm not telling you, Jack Sparrow" I crossed my arms. "I'm a woman"

"I can see that," he said with a smirk, letting his eyes glide over my body, only half covered by the dress, due to the fact I had ripped most of it apart. He placed his hands on his hips, still with a smile. I got a weird feeling in my body. I felt his eyes on my body.

"That's it, you're not getting it," I said, still with my arms crossed. The pirate in front of my was filthy and disgusting. Everything about him was disgusting. His dark hair. His beard. His stupid hat. That weird, red bandana around his head. He walked closer to me. His stupidly, tan skin. That random cross on his right cheek.

"What do you want, woman," he whispered underneath his breath. It felt intimate. I got goosebumps all over my body. I shook it off.

"You know what I want" I looked him in the face, keeping a poker face. He raised one eyebrow. "I want to be part of your crew. I want to find Elizabeth." He scratched his moustache with one finger. On his finger, there was a silver ring, with a big, blue jewel on it.

"Alright," he said. He leaned in closer to me. He brushed my hair away with his hand. It was warm. His mouth brushed against my air. I felt warm air hitting my ear. I could smell the scent of rum.

"Welcome on board, darling." I smiled.

"Thank you, Captain Sparrow."
