Hiring secretary
I was tapping the steering wheel of my car with the tip of my finger while looking in front of Half's house. The sun was almost up and it would greet the whole nation later on. I was wearing a hoodie as I stopped by in my condo for a while to get some things, especially my clothes. I know my family will look for me when I don't show up until tonight. They will use the whole clan, and even the gang they lead just to find me and bring me back to arrange marriage in exchange for more power. I don't understand what my father still wants when we all have the power on top. Not just in the world of Mafia but to the whole world. We're spending our money like a piece of coin. My brother and I grew up swimming in money and watching the drip of blood coming through someone.
I was 7 years old when I first saw my father killing someone and I was 8 years old when I first saw my mother torturing someone brutally, with no mercy at all. I thought I would be scared, but I didn't. I remember myself smiling like a little devil that was born in this world as I saw blood coming out to the flesh of a human. My parents didn't hide it to me even if I was still a kid. That's what they do to my brother as well. There's no need to hide it if that is really what life awaits us. Starting that day, I always see them kill someone. And I have never seen any of them kill with conscience in their eyes. All I can see is darkness and evilness. We do illegal business, but we also have legal businesses. When I turned 18, I built my own company, my hotel.
Emerald's Hotel
That's the name of my hotel. I have many branches in different countries. I don't know how it became that successful. Just like how I am, I just had to play with the money.
I sighed as I heard Half's phone ringing on the other line. I was listening to it while still tapping the steering wheel of my car. This bastard is challenging me.
"H-Hello—holy hell, baby!"
I almost puke as I heard him moaning in pleasure this early. I greeted my teeth and shut my eyes emphatically. How dare he answer my call while having sex?! F*ck him! What a dirty man!
"I'm giving you 3 minutes, Half. I'll call again. You better stop that sex right now before I shut you with my gun." I said coldly with a threat from the devil. I glared as I looked in his house again. He's a sex addict. He's not even choosing a time to do that thing! I hung up and waited for a second. I kept tapping the steering wheel with the tip of my finger counting every second as I waited for him. I'm starting to boil like hot water here. I stopped tapping the steering wheel when my phone rang and the name of the sex addict appeared.
"Good morning, Adi." He greeted. Even his voice annoys me. I couldn't imagine what he was doing with another woman. He changes his woman every day.
"Change my identity and give me everything I need including a resume," I said and cut to the chase.
"What? What are you up to?"
"Come on, baby." I stopped myself from puking as I heard the woman's voice. I can't help but to pity her.
"I mean, are you really commanding me to do that right now in the middle of my sex life?" That moment I had already boiled so much under the heat on the stove.
"I don't give a f*ck of what you are doing right now, Half. I'm giving you 5 minutes to settle everything. Also, buy me the cheapest car. "
"Are you serious, Adi?" He asked with a complaint at the tone of his voice. This jerk is really making me boil into hot water.
"Don't you dare tell this to anyone, including my brother." I warned.
"Is that mean I am the only you tru—"
"I'll make sure to cut your manhood if you don't make it in 5 minutes." I hung up the phone as I watched the hand of the clock at the wrist watch I'm wearing. Half isn't just the tracker in my gang. He's also the one who works on these things and he is the only one I can fully trust as of now. It's not that I don't trust my brother. But I know that he will make his move to find me without my parents knowing. But I will never be caught easily and I know he's aware of that. Only my parents belittle me. They don't even know who I am and what they just grew up with. My mother just gave birth to a devil.
They don't know how I play. I don't play easily, I play deceivingly until I make them crazy just like cards in my hands, manipulating it slowly. Starting a game with their heiress is the biggest mistake they made. I know how they move, and they don't know mine.
I have my own power. And that is not because I am an Austrella. I'm powerful enough as Adira Emerald, even if they remove my surname.
I quickly answered my phone as the ring of it filled my whole car.
"I sent everything to you, just check it after this call. I also bought you the cheapest car as you said, you just have to pick it up I'll send you the address. Now, what the hell are you up to, Adi?" I opened my email using my iPad and checked what he sent.
Avaline Diaz, 26 years old.
A devil's smile drew on my lips as I saw it. It made me feel fun and excited with this game.
"Playing," I simply answered.
"I don't like that answer. It gives me chills, Adi. I know how you play!"
I just chuckled, "No one will know about this, Half. You know how I punish those who do betrayal."
"Fine! But your family will kill me if t–"
"That's why you should act normally if you want to live."
"Tsk. I have never betrayed you in my entire life, you know that." I smirked and hung up the phone.
I know that. He was threatened by my parents before when I told him not to tell them that I'm starting my own business. They almost killed him but he didn't say a word. That jerk is willing to die just for me. But this time, they will not dare to do that again to him or to any in my gang. They know how I make people face the music.
I rolled my eyes and sighed as I stopped and stuck in the middle of the traffic. That's why I don't drive. I hate traffics!
I was annoyed in the middle of traffic, but it suddenly vanished like a bubble as my eyes went on the big screen at the building.
